Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Comp Upgrade to Comfort for Elites

Status matching from Flying Blue Gold, where Economy Comfort is free for Golds. Will Turkish auto upgrade elites from economy to comfort for free or is this more of an op-up type of situation? I can't find it stated as an elite benefit.
Thanks.

Economy Comfort is a different fare class, and not some poorly pimped out version of a standard Y seat. TK, muck like SK, BA do not upgrade unless for OpUp reasons. And it has been a long time since I last stepped into Y lang haul but I thought you only got a discount as FB Gold (only Plats for free).

I don't think Comfort Class on TK's longhauls is free for Golds. You can upgrade with miles OR pay at the counter on the day of departure (at certain stations only from what I have read).

No free upgrades on TK for elites. Often you can pay for the upgrade at check-in. Very good value IMO.

Y+ is completely different from Y (and Y+ on other carriers), much more like C class than Y.

Economy Comfort is free for FB Gold on AF flights? Are you sure? Please show me where you read about this. I am sure you missunderstood something!

The OP is confused
Air France offers free access to Siege Plus (some kind of Preferred Seats) for Platinum members, which are those seats located at emergency exits or the upper deck on the B747.
However, as stipulated further up on this thread, the Premium Voyageur is a different class altogether, like Comfort Class on TK, and those have to be paid for unless you enjoy an OPUP.
