On April I was hesitating to choose Marriott or Hilton for my vacation (19 consecutive days).
I have just Hilton basic status with some 30K points and I would choose Marriott, but Hilton offer was just much better in terms of $$$. As it is 19 nights, I called Hilton and they offered me fast track to Gold with 5 stays/10 nights in 2 months, which was until end of June. As I will be staying in July, I decided to call again now and take the opportunity again.
Surprisigly for me, today I got no offer at all and I was told that there is no way for short cut.
It might not work once you get past the login, but was found doing a Google search. Another link for the Fast Track program got a 404 error. They may be working their way through the system.
Good luck.

if you are open to getting a new credit card. you can sign up for the hilton surpass card from american express, it has a $75 fee but automatically upgrades you to gold, and with 3000 spend you get 60k hilton points, plus 9 pts per dollar at hiltons(since you have so many upcoming)

RogerD408: Thank you for the link. I was able to insert my HH number.
The only downside that it requires stay and does not give you the Gold in advance. I will be staying 19 consecutive nights, so I am just curious, if I get it automatically during my stay...
particlemn: Thanks, but no cc for now.
Any other suggestions for instant fast track?
...and I wanted was just the free internet connection for 19 days... :D

Status changes only happen AFTER your stay posts. Unfortunately you can't break your stay up either as consecutive stays count as one. No way to do four cheap stays before your trip? Any cheap Hamptons near home?

I've had hotels honor changes of status the same day as I've jumped between quantum levels. e.g. if you need one night to make gold, and stay at a Hilton facility 1 on one night and stay at Hilton facility 2 the next, the second one will honor it if you ask (nicely that is!)

I actually received an immediate upgrade to Platinum in 2010 and was able to keep the status after 18 nights in 90 days. I received that deal by making a phone call. It appears to depend who answers the phone when you call. OP, you may want to call again and hope you get a different CSR.

He'd be missing almost 3 weeks of breakfast and internet. That could add up to a nice chunk of change.
BTW, I know at one point you could get instant gold status if you have a Visa Infinity Card. Don't know if that deal is still live or not.

You got it very clear :).
Breakfast & internet is around $40/day x 19 days gives a nice $$$ to spend elsewhere.
I tried my luck with hotline again and again they have no record of any of my previous conversations. It is like I would be calling first time. Weird, huh?

Fortunatey this is why calling back in works. If they track all calls (and some places do), then you'd get a consistent answer. Starting with a clean slate allows the agent to decide on their own accord and consider your reqeust without any previous bias.
Agents have been known to make up their own rules, so just because one says no doesn't mean the answer will always be no.

Are you going alone or with someone else? If with someone else then both of you sign up for the MVP fast track and split the first 8 nights into 8 separate reservations..
Night 1: You
Night 2: Your Guest
Night 3: You
Night 4: Your Guest
Night 5: You
Night 6: Your Guest
Night 7: You
Night 8: Your Guest
This will give you both Gold after the first 8 nights and the rest of the nights you can then just book in one reservation. So that would mean paying for breakfast & internet for 8 nights but at least it should give 11 nights of not having to pay.
You will have to call HHonors after the 8th night and see if they will change the status immediately or you may have to wait until the last stay posts. (Could be another 2- 3 days)
Also I've heard of some stories where people have signed up on-line for the MVP fast track but the system didn't pick it up. Therefore it would be a good idea after registering to phone HHonors and ensure you are both correctly registered for the fast track offer.
P.S. Don't be too concerned about the split reservations..If you explain to front desk either by telephone in advance or when you check in that the reservations are to be grouped together, they will do this no problem...this way you wont have any issues with regards to potentially having to change rooms and having your key not working every day.

But this is Hilton we're talking about. No such status level as Platinum in Hilton. It's Blue->Silver->Gold->Diamond.
So was this indeed Hilton, or did you get it confused and the immediate upgrade was in another program???

Could you post a link to this? The only thing I could find on Lucky's blog was a post from six months ago, and that involved having a Visa Infinite card:
As any experienced FTer knows, offers like this come and go.
A couple of years ago, Hilton had one where you could make Diamond with 7 stays in something like a month -- something easy to do when you're on a one week trip that puts you in a difference city each night.

Well yes, but the OP of this thread wants a fast track right now, rather than one that has already expired, or one that might come at some indeterminate time in the future. ;)
AFAIK, the MVP fast track offer (link in post #2) is still valid. But it apparently doesn't meet the OP's criteria.

And gold status isn't that hard to get (or diamond for that matter if you charge a lot on a credit card). The MVP deal only requires four stays and if you get a surpass you get it immediately. If someone isn't even going to stay four times with Hilton in a year, they shouldn't expect Hilton to just give them the status.

It looks like, so far, a few shortcuts to Gold so OP can save perhaps ~$1,000 or more, including room prices and perquisites: credit card possibilities (nope, OP is not interested), MVP registration plus four stays (nope, OP doesn't want the hassle), or call again (since apparently no record is made).
Pretty much, with the near exception of the shortcuts, TANSTAAFL. ;)

The OP may also conside applying for the Hilton AMEX Surpass card which comes with Gold status for the first year. The other route is the MVP website which will award Gold for competing 4 separate stays. Try 4 weekend mattress runs at low cost Hamptons or Doubletrees.

So if I'm reading the MVP terms correctly, my stay that was booked before I registered still counts towards the MVP qualifying stay as long as my stay is within the 90 day period. To be clearer, I have a booking for the end of July that was made a few weeks ago. I signed up for the MVP today. Does this mean that my stay at the end of July qualifies? Or do I have cancel and rebook?
thanks.

Yes, you're fine. Your stays must occur within the 90 day window but it doesn't matter when you booked them.
You may also want to consider checking your existing reservations and seeing if the MVP discount codes can knock the price down.
Good luck!

I don't stay at Hilton properties very much. I have had a Hilton Hhonors Visa for several years with no annual fee. My wife uses the card often and back in March I did stay at 2 Hilton props for busniess.
I checked my point total last weekend and noticed that I was now statused as gold. Yesterday, I received my new gold membership card. I have no idea why Hilton gave me this status. Any thoughts?

We're leaving this open to allow FlyerTalk members decide for themselves whether or not they want to risk their HH accounts just to get a benefit like this that they would not otherwise be entitled to. Generally, it is not the moderators' role to evaluate or delete these types of offers, but we would suggest being very careful in evaluating such an offer as well as its source.
