The last time I was in those seats was all the way back in December 2007.

Surprised to find them on a flight this Saturday (DXB-BEY). I thought these were long gone from the 773s and replaced with Skycruisers. If I recall correctly in 2009 all 772 planes were refurbished to Skycruisers, assumed they'll continue onto the 773s too.

I don't think there are any 773s with anything other than Suites and Skycruisers. Perhaps you can share the registration number of the aircraft and some of the fleet experts can tell us what's going on.

Just look up services by flight for EK957 for this coming Saturday (30 June).
It's the same thing for EK953/4 too.

Don't trust services by flight. I kept avoiding the 777-300 for a long time because services by flight said it had deeply reclining J seats, when in fact all aircraft of this type have lie flats.

I disagree. I flew DXB-FRA in J on 777-300 on 20th June and the seats were deeply reclining not lie flats!

Do you have the registration for that aircraft? All the 773s in the fleet have been refurbished unless one slipped out. Are you sure it wasn't an ER?

That was my initial hunch as well that it was an ER. The aircraft security card in the front seat pocket said 777-300. Someone a couple of seats from me was chatting to the cabin crew saying that he thought it was ER but the card only said 777-300 (no ER). The cabin crew just shrugged and said 'it is what it says on the card'. Are the safety cards the same for 777-300 and 777-300ER. On other airlines and aircrafts I have seen the security card explicitly say ER / LR / ULR etc etc since I believe the position of emergency exits change

Any aircraft expert might shed some light on this

Yes I have flown several Ers that had 777-300 safety cards but I don't know if this is consistent within the fleet

There are only two versions of the 777 safety card. One is for the -200 fleet and another for the -300 fleet. Whether it is an ER, LR, ULR, whatever, the only safety difference will be whether there are 8 or 10 doors for disembarkation. All other differences are in the engines and cockpits which does not warrenty having to issue different safety cards for sub fleets.

But don't all 777-300ERs as well have either Suites or Skycruisers? What is this deeply reclining F??

When I did this flight it was a three month old aircraft with 8 spanking new Suites for me. They must have known I was flying that day :p

Ung1 you are correct. All Emi metal have lieflats in F for their long haul. I travel in J,and some still have their "Deeply reclining sleeperates"

There are still A332s and A343s with the old Sleeperettes in F.

I think ung1 was questioning the post which claimed a B777 had Sleeperettes in F in which case it's right, as it's not true.

As it turned out, it was EMQ with skycruisers in F and lie flats in J. We got delayed by a whopping 2 hours, first 30 minutes was waiting for late connecting flights. Luggage made it through but passengers did not so they had to unload the extra luggage.
We get pushed back, we're taxiing about the maze in DXB and just when we're about to go on the main taxiway (parallel to the active runway) the pilot advises us that we've had a medical emergency and that we need to head back to the same remote stand.
Once we're there it takes 1 hr 15 minutes to get the sick passenger off the plane, run a security check on hand luggage in the plane, then unload that passenger's luggage.

We reached BEY 2 hours late. First time in my life that I was on a severely delayed flight (taking into account the actual flight time). We had boarded the aircraft at 7:10 DXB time, and left it at 12:45 DXB time.
