All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - Any way to extend miles expiration date?

My miles are expiring in a few days. I was thinking of booking a flight, and than canceling it. When the miles are refunded back into my account, will they be treated as a new deposit? or will they go by original expiration date, causing me to lose them?

They will maintain their original expiration date (and you will be out 3,000 miles for the refund).

The only way to prevent your miles from expiring is by having DIA status.
