Credit Card Programs - Seeking recommendations for hotel award Mastercard

Hello, could anyone recommend the best Mastercard for earning hotel rewards? I would like to have one that gives a sign up bonus for free points or room nights and awards an elite status in their hotel reward program. I seem to find many Visas, but not so many Mastercards.

Why would it matter if it's a Visa, though?

while its a bit of a pain, if i need/want aa mi, i buy gift cards at walmart w/visa to use at sams....we have a cash back mc to use at sams....

There is an AAdvantage Mastercard with 40k signup bonus. You can redeem AA miles for hotels at useaamiles.com - sometimes at good rates.

The best option overall is probably a Citi ThankYou Premier Mastercard with 50k signup bonus. But those are only a good redemption value on travel if you use toward airfare, not hotels.

If any kind of Hotel will do, then there is Barclay's Best Western MC.

It will not get you elite status, but in general you will save a lot more booking hotels on Priceline than trying to accumulate points.
