Two credits expired just yesterday. Two agents said there is no way to reactivate them. Is this correct?

Correct. Sorry.
With extenuating circumstances a CSR could choose to grant replacement credits. Of course you could create two new credits from 2,400 points.

I also recommend using an electronic calendar with reminder feature to warn oneself several times over a few days leading up to any upcoming credit expiry deemed important.
