According to AF (seen on another forum), it is a IATA instruction to tag the luggage to final destination when holding two separate tickets.

I thought it was rather related to the existence of an interline agreement between the 2 airlines ?

Are you flying on separate tickets ? If no, your bag will be tagged until final destination. If separate tickets, you should try to have your bag tagged until your final destination. You need to show in LHR the e-ticket receipt of your 2nd flight. This will allow you to not have to collect your bag in CDG and to connect airside, instead of landside, and avoid to pass immigration (twice) in CDG.

It will be on seperate tickets

Is the landside transfer from 2E to 2A walkable? or is it a transfer bus?

It is walkable (15mn) within the terminal building and there is also a transfer bus. I prefer walking.

On the other hand, I have never had a problem interlining baggage from Air France to another major carrier, even on separate tickets. If you can ask the agent at LHR to check your baggage to your final destination, you can use the airside bus, which is better than walking landside with two immigration checks.

I do it in 15 minutes too but you and I are fast walkers and probably know every inch of CDG! :) If the OP is not a brisk walker and is unsure where to go I'd count 20+ minutes instead. flysas, also note that this is the time to transfer from the exit at 2E to the 2A security, but as others have mentioned, if you do it that way, you need to factor in time to pass immigration twice, you also need to factor in the possibility of landing at S3 (the satellite part of 2E) which can add a few minutes, or even the possibility to land somewhere completely different and be bussed into 2E (happens if your plane goes to a Schengen destination after arriving from LHR). In short, I would call/write to AF and ask about interlining and if you have some fear about needing to collect and recheck luggage, then I would plan plenty of time...

More than enough. You'll likely get bored before boarding time arrives! ;)

Even if you have a lot of time, you should definitely try to have your bags tagged, in LHR, until final destination.
