California - Fresno: Decent eats?View Full Version : Fresno: Decent eats? bigguyinpasadena Jun 25, 12, 7:35 am Doing a roadtrip to Sacramento via Fresno and was wondering about good "locals only" places for dinner and/or breakfast. any suggestions? TIA chanp Jun 25, 12, 8:09 am I like Maxs, Parma, Cracked Pepper, Campagnias, Five, Kijima, Flemings (chain but my favorite happy hour burger) to name a few. I'll try to add later RichardInSF Jun 26, 12, 1:02 pm No specific names, but one of the Basque restaurants that dot the central valley is worth trying if you haven't ever done so. These are more into quantity than quality but still it is worth doing. FATFlyer Jun 27, 12, 10:30 pm I'd add Hunan Restaurant (locations in both Fresno and Clovis); http://www.fresnohunanrestaurant.com/index.html http://www.facebook.com/hunanfresno Limon (Peruvian from the same family as Limon in San Francisco); http://www.limonfresno.com/ Trelio in Clovis (daily menu using many local and organic ingredients); http://www.treliorestaurant.com/food-menu/ And I'll second the Cracked Pepper recommendation. http://www.crackedpepperbistro.com/ Lkeade Jun 29, 12, 4:12 pm The Dog House Grill on Shaw, across from the university has great tri tip sandwiches if you don't mind the sports bar/college decor. If you don't mind the atmosphere (some what of a dump) you can get a great breakfast at Chubby's on First St. chanp Jul 2, 12, 6:50 am Some great additional suggestions. Deli Delicious is decent as well for sandwiches. Where did you eat, what did you think? bigguyinpasadena Jul 4, 12, 8:25 am Thanks to the LAX/SFO UA flight being delayed 3 hours (decided to rent a car at LAX and drive) I did not get to the Park(what a dump)Inn till almost 11 and at that point Sonic seemed a good choice |
