SQ has advised on its website that they and subsidiary MI will undergo their system upgrade cutover to Amadeus on 8th July 2012.
Expect chaos, slowdowns, at every level. CX is still having problems with their system after almost a year. QF/BA took almost as long to readjust.
Don't expect the FQTS/FQTV entry as I doubt Amadeus can handle this for now.
If you want to earn $ value on PPS and miles to your fav FFP, call PPS now and have them link your PPS account with your FFP for automatic credit.
Be patient ! But at least you know that you can use checkmytrip for your bookings from then on.

CX had to upload the new premium economy product into their reservations system.
SQ - perhaps someone decided that 14 months of making customers suffer a 3rd rate website should come to an end :D.

If you're crediting miles to UA, then that's all you gotta do.
PPS is SQ's Priority card. It tracks your SQ revenue in C/F flights only. Once you reach SGD $25K a year, you get the PPS card. You are allowed to earn miles on any other programme or Krisflyer but credit the revenue value to PPS. PPS gives you a higher priority waitlist for full flights, duty free shopping vouchers, birthday gifts, etc.

But where did you do the booking? If its on SQ's website... you shouldn't be able to see it on checkmytrip yet as the migration hasn't started. If you booked through a web agency, maybe they used Amadeus then you would be able to see SQ's booking.
I just tried entering my flight on Sunday (SQ's PNR) onto checkmytrip and it does not work.
After Monday, every current PNR would be switched over to Amadeus

Or will it take more that one major overhaul to sort out such a simple issue?

1A prefix will only show up on eticket printing info and not for public's eyes. Amadeus record locators will just replace current ones. Tickets issued by other airlines' system will be updated accordingly and those with Amadeus eg award tickets issued by BMI will now have same PNR as theirs.

No.
So far, all of the Amadeus record locators being returned for existing SQ bookings are in the 7XXXXX range.
If you go to checkmytrip.com and put in the 7XXXXX Amadeus record locator, you will see your SQ segments (note: the old SQ record locator LXXXXX will show up as a reference - my guess is that this will disappear who show us as "NOSYNC" after the migration is done).

So how does one know what the new 7XXXXX Amadeus record locator is? In other words, if you ONLY know your existing SQ PNR, how do you know your new Amadeus PNR? Adding a 7, or replacing the L with a 7 in mine is not working.
Again, I guess we'll know in a few hours...

It's a big issue to me since I'm very tall and had upper deck exit rows booked both ways. Called SQ but had to give up after 40 min. on hold. Made an inquiry by email but doubtful ill get a reply anytime soon.
Update: SQ got back to my email two days later confirming my original seat assignments. I am also able to see them online again now.

I tried to change an award ticket online but unable to proceed, and read from the FAQ that flights issued before July 8 cannot be rebooked or cancelled online. So I was on hold for 65 minutes before I finally got hold on an KF agent. It took him an hour to book me to a new date due to some glitch he cant figure out. In the end, he cancelled my old ticket and issued me a new one, new PNR, and for the date I requested.I tried to change the new booking online, but it wont allow me to proceed to the confirmation page. Is this the way award booking now works? You have to torture yourself holding to get someone on the line? Gone are the days where you can just click and click, ticket reissued, ticket cancelled, tickets rebooked? It seems the new system works backward?:td::td:

I've found that SQ reservation system loses my UA ff information about 50 percent of the time. Make sure when you check in that the correct FF information is available. The SQ agents here in Singapore roll their eyes in knowing understanding each week when I ask them to check the FF program.

...As we are currently experiencing high call volumes at our contact centres, you may encounter longer than usual waiting times. We seek your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period...
I've got two booked trips with SQ, one in August and one in December.
A couple of days before the website change I rang up to change the flights on my August trip (AUS line, zero hold times).
However, I can no longer login into the SQ website, I get this error message: ???scheduleChange.AlertMessage???
I rang SQ (AUS line, zero hold time) and they advised me of a new PNR (2xxxxx). However this new one still doesn't work on their website, neither does the ticket number. She did advise me that the previous agent had made a mistake when changing my flights, and I was still booked on my old flights as well as being booked on my new flights. She corrected this (after I made her confirm twice she wasn't cancelling my new flights). She thought maybe this is why the website didn't work, and I should wait a few hours and try again.
Two days later it still doesn't work (I want to check seats), I rang SQ again (UK line, zero hold time). The agent confirmed my flights, but said he couldn't do anything to fix the website issue.
This new PNR does work on checkmyflight. But it looks like I have no way of investigating what flights I can change on my booking (except asking on the phone), or looking at my seats. Should I be holding my breath that my website will start working soon?
My December booking still works on the SQ website, doesn't have a new PNR and doesn't work on checkmyflight.
I'm guessing the migration isn't complete yet.

Given that the website never worked properly since its inception in May 2011, and that it still is wonky and fraught with problems, SQ might wait a while for the new system to settle before they upgrade the entire website.

I was excited as saver C seats are showing on the website, but as my award ticket was issued before the migration, I can't able to do it online, only to be told, the seats availability your looking at our website is not the update one, in my system, it shows no available seats.5 Different dates on EWR-SIN has available seat on SQ site however , the KF system or whatever it was has none. There are a lot of problems ,
- "Manage booking" on the website shows just half of my trips, the others have gone missing
- I ring up to change flights/seats but SQ think a booking is not ticketed, even though it was ticketed >6 months ago, luckily I am organised enough to find the ticket numbers for them
- They are having trouble ticketing some *A award flights
Could be a while before all this is sorted out

Tried to book a SIN-PER flight a few times, things go well until I try to use a nominee as passenger 2, and the site won't recognize the FFP number for the 2nd pax. I managed to book anyway (and pay), but I now get an error when I try to select our seats.

Having similar issues. Massive hassle to book flights yesterday - time outs, errors, random price changes, no frequent flyer program worked etc. Finally managed to get ticketed.

Miles not credited yet (1. segment on the 4th july, 2nd on the 13th july) despite booking made on SQs website and boarding passes stating my SQ Krisflyer number. Fed up with SQ's website. Last few months, I travelled with competitors but decided to try SQ again. Now I can't even access my booking online!
Every time I call Singapore Airlines, I am only told "try again tomorrow". This has been going on for days.
When I go to my KrisFlyer account online, then to "Manage Bookings", I click on the Booking ref. number, the screen shows "Processing request, please wait...", then the screen just goes back to the general manage bookings screen.
HOW ANNOYING!!!

Hi SQ325
I just cleaned up my mileage accruals for this year and found four flights where an outbound had been credited but not the return, or vice versa. Somewhat surprisingly, the online missing mileage claim worked like a treat - but of course, they should not have been missing in the first place! Didnt bother calling SQ as such errors are par for the course.
As for the migration, only a few more errors and issues have been encountered so far - a success compared to the previous 'upgrade'.

Still fighting with SQ. Online claim unsuccessful "Miles have been credited to another programme". Send a mail to Krisflyerservice, but they just ask stupid questions "for security reasons": Getting a bit fed up. Customer service and Callcentre are a big :td:
I find the service provided onboard and at Check-In at certain outposts extraordinary good. But the recent encouters with their call centre as well as via e-mail is really sub-par.

Best part about PPS for those of us w American programs (UA/US) is even though no actual miles go to my PPS card, it is still a *G card. I can use it when traveling domesticly for admittance to the UClub.
(My PPS number is linked to my UA number. When making reservations w SQ I just give them my PPS number. That saves time as all my details (phone, address, etc) are stored there and the agent can see I have a KF & MP account linked. They just will ask what account I want my miles to go to and that's it.
The UClub admittance I no longer need (got that w my UA 2MM Status) but the SGD$200 of duty free certs are fantastic

Not clear if I am doing something wrong or it's still website related issues (suspect the latter).
If I put in the PNR given to me by an SQ rep and my last name and there is an issue (it's a *A reward booking) should it give an error message? Currently it does nothing. Screen flashes and nothing changes. I am not a KrisFlyer member but I thought perhaps they would be related issues (award ticketing).

As an update for those as clueless as me (I can't be alone in this) - a way around the regular website glitch seems to be to go on their mobile site for seat selection. The first leg of my flight is missing on any Amadeus system, but it's with AC and THEY can see it, so I'm not too worried. Then mobile SQ allowed me to select (and see!) the subsequent SA and SQ flights.

You're not the only one. I get the same "Our system has detected multiple sessions" error message. I tried multiple browsers. It's some problem with the site.
If there was a prize for the worst managed airline in the world, SQ would win it. This website fiasco has been going on for so long. Even if they would fix the blatant bugs, the usability issues would still be very irritating. It's like they don't even care. I have changed to other airlines for some of my SE Asia travel, but unfortunately I fly through Singapore a lot and SQ has the most flights. I really wish they could get their act together. Their in-flight service is still very good. What a shame they are so inept when it comes to other things.

Tried the last 24 hours to buy a $8000 J fare ticket on the website. Would get it all done and hit the purchase button and it would come back my "payment type" was rejected. Really? I thought VISA was pretty universally accepted. You have a VISA radio button I can push.
Thought it was maybe a problem with my card but when I called the bank and reported my three failures, they said nothing had come through. They were not rejecting the charges.
Called SQ and asked for web support. None exists, apparently. Agent then rebooked everything but tried to charge me the call center service charge. Oh no. We had a bit of an exchange but it the end I did not pay the charge since their website was rejecting payment methods they listed as acceptable.
I don't understand why it's so hard sometimes to give someone $8000!

Had similar experience when trying to pay taxes for award booking, hit the payment button and got sent back to homepage.
Thought it had gone through as when I checked upcoming bookings the flights were confirmed and had selected seating.
However, I was expecting emailing of E-Ticket but no email came so I rechecked my booking out found out that we were not ticketed, flights and seats still confirmed though, because no payment went through.
After checking with bank to make sure if payment went through which it didn't, Called Kris Flyer who fixed up issue but had to re-book tickets and still honoured 15% discount.

I have an award ticket in F on SQ and have a SQ booking number. I was able to retrieve the booking up until today. It says "unable because ticket(s) issued by another airline". I am still able to retrieve it on SQ Mobile. However, if I want to do something like "Book the Cook" I can't do that on the mobile app. Anyway around this?
Thanks

Why do all these reservation system "improvements" often reduce functionality??
I had UA and AC bookings on SQ and had previously logged in on the web site to book seats and BTC. Does anyone know whether these selections will likely be maintained in their system after this change?

Tried to use the SQ website to book a multi-city itinerary today. What a joke! I gave up and rang a travel agent.
Also tried to select seats on 4 legs of a itinerary yesterday and everytime I tried to go to the next leg I got an error saying my seat selection was invalid. But if I logged off between selecting each leg it accepted the changes.

My favorite this year is the bogus error message where the SQ website claims that it detected that I'm logged in twice when I try to view my booking or make a seat assignment. At this point, I feel like the bugs will be there at least until the next death march to update their website. :)

This change doesn't make any sense. The ticket was booked after the switch to Amadeus and I was able to access my flight info with my SQ PNR, until this change. It's just plain stupid to reduce functionality on a website in this day and age. I sure hope this is temporary!

No need to use SQ's own website.

I have the same issue for a ticket on BD stock. Called SQ yesterday to book the cook and was informed that the SQ segments do not show on the ticket in their system (confirmed, but unticketed), while BD assured everything was fine. They (SQ) were able to sort it out eventually ;) Just a couple of days ago I could still log in on the SQ website, I wonder what they enhanced this time...

Last night my husband and I sat down to book flights from Australia to Singapore in March 2013 then from Bangkok back to Australia in April 2013. The first time I went to book them the page timed out and took us back to the very start page. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th time I tried to book them it would not get past the seat reservation process. The 5th time the reservation actually went through and however the return date was confirmed as the 6 May 2013 rather than the 6 April 2013. I could not believe what had happened, both my huband and I were sitting in front of the computer and confirmd on three different pages that we had put in the return date as the 6 April 2013. I have no idea how this has changed. We contacted SIA straight away and advised them there has to be some sort of error with their website. They have escalated the issue and now we have to call back on Monday. I know this seems like we made this mistake, however there is no way both of us would have put in the wrong date and then not realised it as you had to check it over the next three pages.

As for millie1081, SQ is very much aware of this problem that their horrible website is having. ie date changes, when you try to do one thing, and the website resets automatically and doesn't confirm the dates you want. It also changes names too.. but that was another time.
You can be sure that SQ reservation will assist you with this. And please write the Customer Relations department and tell them what you think of their website too.

Oy. I went on the website tonight to make sure all our info for our October trip was on there. Well, not so much. BTC reservations made over the phone moths ago are nowhere to be found. When I entered the info again, the system crashed. Twice. I gave up, and decided to try again closer to the trip, or just eat off the J menu. It's not like BTC is dinner at a five star restaurant. It's just nice.
Then, my Aeroplan info is not in the system, nor is my country of origin info. Twice I try to fix this, and twice I end up with a confused computer concluding that I must be an American living in Canada. I guess only people in Canada are on Aeroplan . . . (And, yes, the Canucks are welcome to make fun of me right about now -- I'll just say that tea at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa is addictive).
Sigh. SQ -- Great in the air, on the ground, well . . .

Hi all,
I am looking at flight options, one way, from Phuket to Christchurch on the 28th December. When you enter this route onto the SQ website, it shows no availability. However, when you search separately (Phuket-Singapore and Singapore-Christchurch) the flights ARE showing availability, so this means there are seats.
Any idea why this might be as I dont really want to have to book two separate bookings for both cost and ease of transit issues? Do I need to speak to the airline by phone?
Any help much appreciated

The website has proven itself to be grossly inadequate. This board and other forums like sqtalk.com have documented the flagrantly idiotic things that the website can and cannot do. So many have a story like yours, or worse. I had a similar thing just yesterday. Wanting to change my existing CGK-SIN flight rez to a day later. Website says no seats available when I try to "change your booking". But when searching as a new ticket, plenty of seats available for CGK-SIN flights.
Calling them is your only option really. Singapore Airlines: why can't you do something about this ridiculous website. It makes you guys look like amateurs.
Also, why can't you do something about your Jakarta call center too. When we Jakartans encounter a problem with your website, you ask us to call. We call, and then you tell us you don't have enough operators and to call back another time or use the website. Even your PPS number. Pretty ridiculous.

Thank you for this clarification!
Surely for the airline this must be a huge concern? This must lead to loss of revenue big time. I very nearly flew an entirely different routing (jetsar via Sydney or Auckland) because of the supposed full flights which are not in fact full. They must be losing thousands of seat bookings if my experience is mirrored by others?

I speak to them 1 or 2 times every month - same approach - CSR help me please - web site has malfunctioned and this is what I want - certainly Sir let me solve your problem - 1 or 2 mins late all sorted.
Currently SQ web site only shows 2 out of 3 daily flts MEL-SIN if seeking F Saver redemptions - and both that display are 380 metal so F Savers not available - a quick call to call centre and it gets sorted.

I would not for one second attempt to defend SQ over their totally ineffective web site - given the breadth and profile of their organization to implement a reliable and effective web site / online booking facility one would think should be pretty straight forward.
But IMHO their premium products still stand head and shoulders above comp that I can use between Aus and China - so I can tolerate the inconvenience to have to regularly call them to mop up their web site shortcomings.

my issue now is that they noticed I did not enter my first name when I did my online reservations (as I skipped it since the website said it was not necessary). However when I called, they said the first name had to appear on the boarding pass/ticket in order to make the flight, and it would be 50 bucks to add it on. How in the world did it let me make an online reservation then without my first name? I have a reservation number and confirmation and everything.

Because not every name requires or has a first name ! You said that since you thought it was not necessary, you didn't put in a first name?
Is this the first time you made an online booking? If not, then you'd know that you need your first name! So then don't blame it on the website. Know that its best to always put in a last name / first name...

I believe some Indonesians only have one name which is their first name equivalent but used it as family name when traveling, which would explain the first name not necessary.

Hello SQers,
Posting here about an issue I posted in my home forum as I'm struggling to get any sense from SQ/BD/BA over this ticketing query which has arisen since the booking system change / website change.
SQ say they can see the ticket but the system says not-ticketed because it is not properly associated with the booking. Therefore it needs revalidation/re-issue. BD/BA response is that it is correctly ticket for travel and the coupons are open for use, they can't see any problem with it.
It's booked on BD ticket stock 236-xx
Has anyone experienced any problems with partner reservations in this way? from the Amadeus manual, there is none of the mandatory reasons that a ticket needs to be revalidated so I can see BD/BA's point.
EDIT:
The booking has now become visible on Singaporeair.com and ticket numbers are shown there - does this mean all is ok?

When will SQ learn to change its horrible website? They claim to be a great airline to fly with but mashing the booking experience is such a task.
It is leading me not to use them in the future as I cannot complete some basic online tasks without a call to their call centre (with lengthy queue).
It is becoming obvious that the management just doesn't want to listen to their most loyal customers and fix the damn thing. Seriously, it's getting ridiculous now.

Well, only if you are curious to know...
All flight numbers were accurate, but the date of the flights were not, to start with. Seat allocation? What dose that mean...?
FFP #, passport #, date of birth...
Very interesting thing is though, those information in my account still stay intact. Also, while my FFP # is 12345678 it appears as 123466789. Same with passport # & DOB.
At least, I have rang to call center to affirm that my original booking was still there.

My credit card does not go through on SQ website, and they claim it is my fault.... except it works everywhere else, and in all other airline's website....
I like SQ but it is a PAIN to call them and have them charge me manually with a service fee for not doing it online! If only I could....
You should not be charged a fee then. If you argue that it is the fault of their website.

Yes the website has been behaving badly since yesterday but today totally cannot access it. Well I managed to login and see my travel details but nothing beyond that.
If you try to checkin, try to use their mobile (avail in iPad/iPhone and Android) but also a bit cranky. It cannot found my booking even I login using my KF and have to manually retrieve the booking
