Etihad Airways Etihad Guest - Tight connection in KUL and attaching MH itinerary?

I tried on the Asia board a while ago, but I will try here and see if anyone has any bright ideas.
I have a friend coming over from Dublin to visit me in Phnom Penh.
Her flight (EY418) arrives in KUL at 2pm. The latest flight leaving KUL for PNH is at 3:20 (MH762)
Is this connection too tight? Or will she already be in the right terminal and through security?
My other thought is that since MH is a partner of EY, would it be possible to buy the MH ticket through EY or somehow attach the itineraries so she could check in for the whole thing at the start of her trip? We are hoping she won't have to spend the night in KUL because we have an event in PNH that night to attend.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Why not go via BKK. Etihad codeshare with Bangkok Airways to Pochentong (PHN). Flights are not every day though. Her transit seems a bit tight via KUL

Because EY418 is already purchased and she's on a tight budget, unfortunately.
Different itineraries can be done but usually through a TR agent.
KUL has three terminals. Term 1 or M, for local and some international Asian flights.... contains immigration and customs clearance etc; Term A, the satellite terminal used for international arrivals and departures, connected by regular (3 mins intervals) aero train to Term M, and LCCT (Low cost) used by Air Asia etc, requiring a 20 min bus/taxi connection
As far as I can remember, MH762 departs from Term 1 or M. Your Lass comes in at Term A (international arrivals). She then has to take the Aero train for immigration/customs clearance. Usually about an hour. If she can get a straight through itinerary, she will avoid customs, and its possible for her to make it. If Etihad is delayed, MH 762 will not wait.
Best bet I think is to catch an earlier flight and spend a night in KL

Thanks, very useful! I just looked it up on flightstats, and it says that EY418 arrives in Terminal M and MH762 leaves out of Terminal M. Would she have to go through security/immigration if she's leaving out of the same terminal? I'd assume not.
Himmm sounds like EY418 is a codeshare with MH
She'll be in transit and will have to clear Immigration and Security. Malaysian officials tend to scrutinise Indochina passengers for drugs etc. Just follow the signs for transits.....Best wishes for the journey.

She won't have to clear Immigration as she is a transit passenger connecting to an international flight.

Would there be any way for her to buy the MH flight and attach it to her EY flight as a single itinerary?

Check out both webs below for info on KLIA. She'll be OK.... Passengers will be checked for the correct visas etc as they will be using MH metal on an international flight.

No need to clear immigration. She'll arrive at the satellite terminal. There's an MH transfer counter there. Pick up her PNH Boarding pass, take the train (2 minute ride) to the A/B/G/H gates at the main building and board the PNH flight there. (assuming she's checked luggage through)

Let me chime in as well...
60 mins is the norm for connections at KLIA. At check in , show the agent her ongoing flight from KUL to PNH and her bag should be allowed to check through.
Upon arrival at KUL, as TGflyergirl said, she goes to the MH transfer counter to pick up the boarding pass for her PNH flight. If she's lucky, her flight might even depart from the Satellite Terminal. Otherwise she just takes the SkyTrain to the main departure Hall.
Everyone speaks English at KLIA. So no worries.

Thanks, this is very helpful!
Thanks everyone for the help! My friend just arrived -- she wasn't able to check her bag through but ran as fast as she could and caught the last flight to PNH today.

Wow, glad she made it. Being that she could'nt get a checkthrough, did she have to go through immigration etc?
