I just flew CX F HKG-YVR (my very first time in CX F and with my new infant son too :) ) and about 2hrs before landing, the pax in 2K came right in front of my seat shouting loudly in the F cabin "you're disgusting, absolutely disgusting. I was in the queue for the toilet.".
I had to admit I was initially shocked and made to feel as if I didn't flush the toilet or something. Somehow, the cabin crew came to apologise to me. Whatever for, I wondered..
I went to his seat and he shouted ."apologise to me or get back to your seat". I was surprisingly calm and explained to him when I approached the toilet from the portside aisle, I saw the portside left toilet taken. The cabin director who had her back to the cockpit, had motioned me to the port side right toilet. Basically I had a clear line of sight to the crew. Pax 2K would have to be coming from the right..
While I was attempting to stand my ground, the cabin crew came to my side. The chap finally apologised to me and shook my hand. Case close I thought..
Just before landing, the cabin director thanked everyone for flying with them but also stated the pax is now blaming her. .Gosh, there's no pleasing some people! .I asked if she wanted me to help support her case and she said she would write a report. I did pass her my business card in case the rude pax decided to complain to CX..
Despite that loud and rude d-1-c-k head, I had an excellent CX F experience in service and product. Was really impressed and maybe I have to change my moniker to cxfan or something. :)

Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Even if you did "jump" the queue, there are 2 toilets for 9 pax....would it really hurt to have to wait a few minutes? I wonder if free flowing Krug had anything to do with this.

I agree. If you 'in line' you have to be at least standing up and near the lav. Not sure if 2K was still sitting or what. Either way, no reason to yell and complain.

According to my wife, the crew told her that the pax was not able to sleep a wink in the entire 12 hr flight. It happened just before brunch service. Maybe that was why he was so grouchy. :o .... Or perhaps he kept getting queue jumped in Hong Kong?

Very true. He was nowhere near the lavatory. He claimed he was in the queue. Absolute bollocks as I had the clear line of sight to the beckoning cabin crew. He would have been perpendicular to my direction of travel in the galley adjoining path. I, believe in queuing.
He could have managed the situation by having a quiet word with me and I would have 'corrected' his grandiose perception.

Honestly there is no "situation" to be managed. However, was your infant crying throughout the night? Maybe this could have contributed to his anger directed at you?

Fair question. Nope, not a squeak. He only demands when he's hungry but otherwise we are quite amazed he travels really well. I know he's my son but I'm being objective here. I was only single and without a child in the recent past. I would have been annoyed but appreciate the 'other' side of the equation. Therefore, I make sure others don't get disturbed.
The pax in the middle row (nearer to us) didn't hear a thing and rolled his eyes when he heard the commotion and the eventual chat. Wife was talking to him after incident.

Either the quality's gone to bits, but you had no issue with the F&B right?
2K sounds like a massive hypertensive to start off with.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunnel_vision
Medical / biological causes
Tunnel vision can be caused by:
-...Alcohol consumption causes tunnel vision.[2] In addition, the vision becomes blurred or double since eye muscles lose their precision causing them to be unable to focus on the same object.
-...Altitude sickness, hypoxia in passenger aircraft[4]
-...Prolonged exposure to air contaminated with heated hydraulic fluids and oils, as can sometimes happen in passenger aircraft.[6]
I would've suggested he take a cruise liner next time.

That's a good tactic of annoying him. Basically, I just say case close to him once he apologised. Could I have been more assertive? In this situation, the worst thing that could happen is that I may be punched, I think. :o. If this happened elsewhere, I may not have confronted the chap. The nut in 2K probably thought that he would have a clear path to the lav after it became free so remained in his seat while 'in the queue'. Ridiculous behavior though and commend you for holding back and not escalating the issue further.
Kudos also to the crew for stepping in and actually taking a side (yours). Many times on Asian airlines they will turn a blind eye to avoid confrontational situations.

This sort of behaviour is unacceptable in any cabin on an aircraft... It is just unfortunate that the traveling public do behave like this when they are cooped up in a metal tube. With airport security and reductions in service onboard all add up, and sometimes, someones capacity bucket overflows... Not an excuse, just what happens. I have been on the receiving end of it more than once at work, I am used to it now.

I can't agree more...had a pretty bad seat mate last night on CX905. I hate taking this flight because the flight is always full and they normally use Regional J seats. To put it mildly he was a complete slob...he took over the arm rests and even pushed his pillow and blanking to me when he had to get up. uuuugggghh....thankfully it was a short flight and close to midnight so I didn't have to eat instead I spent most of the time in the galley with the crew and only sat back during final approach.
On a high note the crew was great and efficient, even the ISM had to work the aisles to make the meal service faster. ^^^

I had the most awful rude cabin manager in F a few weeks ago. She was so damm rude to the crew and passengers and even made snide remarks to an old man who was travelling with assistance. This was when we were getting off and it was the final straw, I had to tell her to her face what a rude horrible person she was and she should find a job up a tree where she didnt have to deal with people. One of the ground staff who is a friend was waiting to meet me and he even pointed out how bad she was when they opened the doors. She refused anyone from Biz to come in the F cabin during the flight despite the old man needing to be checked by his carer in biz every hour or so. My wife was also in biz and was refused point blank entry to come and ask me a question. She even refused to tell me my wife had been to see me, one of the mate FA told me but asked me not to say anything to her, he was obviously in fear of her. When I went to biz to speak to my wife she then told me I could not sit on the otterman to talk to my wife. We went a spoke in the galley and the whole time she was stomping around like a bear with a sore RSEND. She blasted several of the crew during the flight as well all who appeared very scared of her. Not sure what nationality she was, I am pretty sure she was Phillipine or Indonesia.

Now...now, let's not be too rash in saying that the ISM is a Filipino or Indonesian. To be honest the the friendliest I've had apart from Filipino ISMs (perhaps because I'm Filipino too) are Malaysians & Singaporeans. I find the Japanese ISMs most reserved...less chatty. HK ISMs are great too, although I had two instances where they kept on hiding in the galley through out the flight.

As a piece of advice: if you ever encounter that situation in the future, you should
a.) Write a comment form to CX and fill it out with your flight # and her name so she can be identified
b.) Take it with you off the plane, and send it to CX on your own. I recently came to understand that it quite commonplace amount cabin crews (encouraged by ISMs) to open the sealed comment forms (and survey forms), read them, and discard any unfavorable ones so they aren't received by CX management. Even though they have the seals there, apparently the crew all open break the seals, read the comments, and re-seal and return to CX (or throw them out).

Or you could email them, not sure if they will answer or anything but if you give your flight details they could pinpoint who the ISM was on the flight.

She did actually tell me where she was from its just I cant recall if it was Phillipines or Indonesia, I am pretty sure it was Phillipines.I am the kind of person who simply moves on and avoids this type of situation and have now rebooked all my future travel with other airlines. There is no way my wife will step on a CX plane again unless she really has to and as far as we are concerned we will just spend our money elsewhere and hopefully not have to encounter such awful service. To be honest I feel over the last 12 months I have put up with as huge amount of bad service which has cost me an awful lot of money due to delays and cancelled flights.

I do not doubt your story and its quite unfortunate that a single bad egg can ruin an airlines reputation as well as a nationality.
Please help by opening a complaint with CX and have the cabin manager investigated. That way we know the bad egg either shapes up or get axed.
I hope you'd reconsider flying CX again and hopefully the next time CX, and another Filipina can win your business back.

Unrelated, but I was in F JFK-HKG the other day and a couple bought in a huge amount of McDonalds which they were eating pre take off and for at least 20 mins into the flight (must have been horrible by the time they finished it!). The whole cabin stank and then the galley stank when they removed the litter for about another 30 minutes until the A/C nailed it.
Now I like McDonalds but I would never contemplate consuming it in F and stinking the place out.
Am I being unreasonable? I made a comment to the ISM but didn't complain per se. She was horrified about the smell too and apologised to everyone in the F cabin but didn't ask them to remove it.

I just got off of the JFK to HKG flight a few minutes ago and I am not mistaken, there are 3 lavatories in F and all 3 were never taken up at the same time. I don't see why the gentleman could not have moved to another toilet even if he felt someone took his "slot". Personally, this is not something I'd want to create drama over

I guess it's an unfortunate situation, but nothing you can really do about it. The smell of a food in a confined space is probably the last thing on your mind when you are really hungry and craving a particular food. There's worse things that can happen onboard smell-wise - like bad body odour, or someone vomiting.

Yup. That's the layout. Big one on the port side, small one on the starboard side. Unfortunately, neither have windows....this may sound odd, but I think the F bathrooms on the 747 are really quite lovely. A few windows, a large (curving?) shape, large mirror, it's actually quite civilized and it feels totally unlike the standard lavs on a plane, even on the 777 in F. On the 747, even if you're walking in just to change or freshen up, looking outside and seeing the clouds has something of an elegant feel to it.
