Air France Frequence Plus - CDG L gates? [in 2E]

Last week I flew on AF84 (CDG-SFO) and we boarded through gate L42 at CDG. As my inbound flight from ARN was delayed the whole experience at CDG was rushed, so I never got a chance to experience the airport. Anyway, where are the L gates located? As far as I know we were supposed to use the E gates, but instead we used one of the L gates. Are the L gates part of the E gates complex?

Terminal 2E is made (or will soon be made) of gates K, L, and M. Gates L correspond to satellite S3 which is one of the three parts of the rather complex terminal 2E.

Hmm, all the maps of terminal 2E (on the internet and in AF magazine) only shows E numbered gates (E21-E47 and E51-E76), there is no mention of K, L and M gates.

The renumbering of gates that took place at the end of May:
- main 2E pier: formerly gates E21 through E47, now gates K21 through K54
- satellite S3: formerly gates E51 through E76, now gates L21 through L53
- satellite S4: originally scheduled to have gates E81 and above, will have gates M24 through M50 starting June 28th

Regarding the new 2E gate numbering system: does anyone know where I can find gate info for specific transatlantic Air France flights? Next month I'll be transferring through CDG on my way from ZRH to IAD with only a 1h 35m connection. The flight from ZRH arrives at Terminal 2G at 2:55p, and AF flight 026 to Dulles departs from T2E. I'm already nervous about making this tight connection but various threads on this (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-france-frequence-plus/1213302-50-mins-connection-cdg-2f-2g-feasible.html) and other forums have discussed a new airside shuttle that eliminates the need to re-enter security at T2E.
The reason I'm asking about K, L, vs. M gates is because I just read on CDG's website here (http://www.cdgfacile.com/1/guide-de-laeroport/se-deplacer-dans-laeroport/airside-transfer-shuttles/) that this purple airside shuttle doesn't serve gates L and M after 14h (2pm). I'm assuming this is because large jets don't take off from those satellite gates in the afternoon?
I'm crossing my fingers that my 4:30pm AF flight to IAD leaves from a K gate at 2E so I can use the airside shuttle and not have to use the N2 landside bus that winds around the entire airport. If anyone has any input on this difficult-to-find info, I'd much appreciate it!

Different destinations are not allocated specific parts of 2E, they can be anywhere, and indeed, a given flight can perfectly arrive at the main pier on one day, S3 the next, etc. The only constant thing is that A380s do not go from the main pier (K gates) but only L or M gates. A large majority (but not all) flights to the UK, Ireland, and Russia go from the main pier (K gates) although I have also had some occasionally leaving from S3.

Thanks for the insight. Guess I'll just have to wait and see where my connecting flight ends up. I'll be on an A340 so I imagine it will be either K or L gates.

No, M would be entirely possible too!
