Hi FT-
I'm going to a wedding in Maine and wanted to book this trip on UA using some free miles I've earned.
8/28 LAX>ORD arrive at 12:49 pm depart for MHT at 1:31pm (42 mins)
9/4 MHT>ORD arrive at 6:44pm and depart for LAX at 7:24pm (40 mins)
Does anyone have experience with this route, I was wondering if the layovers are sufficient to catch the connecting flight?
Thanks,
RP

You might get better response posting this in the UA forum where those transiting the ORD terminal hang out.

If you look at the ontime perrformance of the flight, the LAX to MHT flight is late 14% of the time.
For the return flight, the stats are it's canceled 11% of the time, and late 15% of the time.
If I was a magic 8 ball, I would say your chances are not good
All that being said, I've made connections in Chicago with less than 15 minutes between arrivial and departure, so it's possible, but if you have the chance, I would book something with more time.

Chances are terrible. LAX likely arriving at B-C and MHT likely departing from E-F. That's a trek. And, it's not 40 mins., it's 25 mins. (need to be at the gate by T-15 or seat subject to cancellation).
Given overbooking on those flights in summer, if you are 10 seconds past T-15, UA will cancel you and board someone else and you aren't entitlted to IDB and the next flight with availability may be a day or two down the pike.
Easier and better to fly to BOS and drive / bus from there to Maine.
