Qantas Frequent Flyer - Curious crediting of BA flights

Recently flew London Gatwick to Bordeaux return on BA. Both flights were booked and flown as Discount Economy, yet they have credited quite differently to my QF account.
The outbound has credited correctly as Discount Economy, with 115 base points and 10 SCs. However the return has credited as Economy with 460 base points, yet only 10 SCs. What I find curious is that an Economy flight should technically have credited with 500 points minimum, as well as full SCs.
This is by no means sour grapes, as the error is still in my (slight) favour, it's just odd that it has credited this way. Has anyone else had something similar occur?

Very simple actually.
Y credits full Y SCs with full points.
B and H credits full points but discount SCs and less than H credits both discount points and SCs.

If it was a flight earning full points , then the minimum 500 points guarantee should have applied
9.3.5 The Minimum Points Guarantee will be applied to all Eligible Flights that have a QF, JQ, 3K, VF, AA or BA flight number. The Minimum Points Guarantee is as follows:
...
(c) for British Airways (BA) - 500 Points for each Eligible Flight Segment travelled in full Economy, World Traveller Plus, Business or First class and 125 Points for each Eligible Flight Segment travelled in discount Economy class.
For a BA flight of 460 miles, it would seem that the base earning should be 125 points if in discount economy or 500 in full economy ( H,B,Y ) with full SCs if in Y and discount SCs otherwise
Getting 460 points for a 460 miles BA flight does indeed seem to be an anomaly to me and would seem that it should have been 125 or 500

And some anomalous spelling too.:)

Thanks Dave Noble, that was precisely my understanding how BA flights post, hence my confusion at 460 points.
I'm returning to Bordeaux in a couple of weeks time, this time booked in H fare class, so it will be interesting to see how the flights post.

Thanks Traveloguy. If it were so simple, then surely the flight should have credited the minimum points guarantee of either 125 or 500 points, not 460?

Yes. Should be 500 base. Seems a glitch. All my recent flights have been 125 or 500 base for short hops.
What fare class you were in?
These things are less important now as I have just ditched QF thanks to LTG.

Turns out I was in H class, so the flight should have credited as 500 minimum points guarantee, with discount economy SCs.

Was just having a thought about the miles and think that it is correctly applied
The 500 mile minimum guarantee kicks in once bonuses have been applied if I recall correctly
Distance of 460 miles , the base should be 460 . Any status bonus would then be applied and then if that is less than 500 miles then bonus applied to give 500
With discount economy, 25% is the earning which is 115. any status bonus would then be applied ( if applicable ) and then if less than 125 the min mile guarantee would kick in to give 125

How does the line read? For example on my statement for H fare on a short hop:
Transaction Date | Flight | Class/Fare - Date | Origin/Destination | Base Points | Cabin Bonus | Status Bonus | Total Points | Status Credits
XX MAY 12 BA XXX ECONOMY XXMAY12 LONDON/XXXXXX 230 - 230 500 10

I've now realised where the issue is – for some reason the status bonus hasn't been credited. I've received 460 points and 10 SCs, but there are no status bonus (I'm WP). I've never seen anything like this before, but will call the Service Centre tomorrow and hopefully it will be a quick fix. Thanks for your help guys.
