Budget Travel - Request help finding IAH - DEL/ATQ/LHE (Pakistan)

I don't often ask for much help, but in this case, I'm hitting a major brick wall. I need to find a financially viable way of getting from Houston to Lahore, one way, using whatever number of flights/bookings/rewards it takes to keep the prices low. Sometime between August 5-10. If anyone has any suggestions for how to do this I'd really appreciate it. Possibilities include:

-Flying from AUS, SAT, or DFW
- Booking through to the ME and hopping on a budget flight.
-Some efficient use of rewards + budget flights.
-routing through India (the visa raj and particular rules make it a pain, but possible.)
-The above, with a FD I can't find.

Any suggestions, PMs, etc, highly appreciated. Oneworld preferred, *A nice, anything awesome. Below 900 is what i'm hoping for.

I took the liberty of editing the title of your request to make it clear that you are not offering any suggestions, rather you are asking for help in finding a fare.

I might add that you said "I'm hitting a major brick wall," but you have not shown us one single itin that you found on your own :rolleyes:

FT members are generous with their help, but at the same time tend to offer it when they see an effort - and you have not shown us what, if any, kind of effort you have exerted.

Your reading of my message, though, is a little off. I wrote presuming I'd be given the benefit of the doubt...apparently not.

Perhaps I was unclear, but I meant to suggest I had searched through options flying out of IAH, AUS, SAT, and DFW, and that I had explore destinations throughout the Middle East, plus, DEL, BOM, ATQ, LHE, ISB, KHI.

I've also considered trying to find rewards to Europe combined with lower-rate fares from c2. I also looked through current offers combined with other strange routings. I've also explore more esoteric legs in conjunction with the main flight.

The best I've gotten to is a generic 950-1000 that's still the basic search result between IAH and DEL. So if I need to share something, here is it: August 7th, AA+AI IAH-DEL 950. I'd like something better than that, which is awful.

As I mentioned, routing suggestions and efficient use of * or OW miles are great.

first of all $950 is a good price. No idea what you are looking for below this. Secondly BA (Oneworld) has availability IAH->LHR->DEL on Aug 7th.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. I didn't see BA's fare there earlier, so maybe it recently came up. I tried to avoid DEL too much just because of the complicatoins with visas an re-entering India twice within two months.

I might be living in the past, but I haven't really paid more than 1,100 R/T to go to Delhi an so not finding any fares below 1500 (again, rt) is unpleasant.

Anyhow, pulled the trigger yesterday on IAH-MCT and then a cheap budget flight from MCT to LHE. came out to 920 which is good enough, I guess.

Sorry if I sound spoiled! I just don't know when SA got so expensive...

920 is actually a decent price for a last minute (relatively speaking) one-way ticket from the US to South Asia (especially a country besides India). I don't think you could have done much better than that.
