I'm considering staying at this property in March. Has anybody stayed there recently?

I understand that they are going through renovations......is the work completed?

Thank you.

We were there for a weekend in early September. Work was certainly under way - the front of the hotel was draped in scaffolding. But at least on the weekend nothing was going on.

I joined SCC for the first time this year thinking I'd probably use my free weekend day at the ex-Regent in Hong Kong, but used it in Rome instead. The fellow at the desk accepted the coupon as if I'd just put a dagger in his heart. I guess I'm not an IC kinda guy - I've stayed at 4 of their properties now that I'm a member of the club, and not one of them impressed me in the least.

Geez, if your weekend certificates were a dagger, I guess my five free night certificates will be like a Scud Missile up his butt!

Did the hotel construction appear to be nearly finished? I'm wondering if it'll be under construction in March.

All this is just conjecture based on my weekend stay, but my guess is that any construction still on-going won't inconvenience you in the least. There was no work going on in public areas - they appeared to be working on guest quarters nowhere near where they put us. The front of the hotel was scaffolded, but at street level access wasn't impacted, and except for all the scaffolding you wouldn't know there was anything going on.

Planning to stay there with my family end of July.

Anyone has recent experience and how the property is.

Thanks

Was there in April for 5 nights/2 rooms. No construction that I could see. Well located. As 6CC was supposedly upgraded to adjoining balcony rooms; I honestly don't think it was an upgrade, as I had booked Deluxe Rms and was told these had balconies anyway. Did not receive my 6CC amenities until the last evening of our stay, after calling the desk. Did not dine in hotel, but had a wonderful, cheerful waiter bring us coffee every morning. Frankly, spent very little time in room, so location was key (as was the balcony). If you want to know anything specific, just ask.

We spent a week at the de la Ville between Christmas and New Year's.

Roberto, on the concierge desk was superb.

Even tho their construction was going on, our room (in the front of the building where there was scaffolding) was superb. Booked a deluxe room and as a 6CC, was upgraded to an executive suite. My 260 euro rate for a room that would have been 1000 euros (rack rate)

Go to their rooftop in the evening. It's a pretty view of the city.
