I booked a HKG-KUL-HKG return online and it is an O class booking. A more convenient flight has come up on the same day of outbound travel. Am I able to change to this flight without fee?

Am I able to change to this flight without fee? midlevels Jun 22, 12, 2:07 am Based on the information given, I don't think anybody except the person you bought the ticket from (if online, then CX eServices) can give you a definitive answer. However, the likely answer is: 1) There is a fee to change it if you want to rebook in advance 2) If you are willing to take a chance and turn up to the airport early, it's likely that CX would allow you to check in for an earlier flight without charging more, if they have space CX828 Jun 22, 12, 2:58 am Im on CX791 to KUL leaving at 01:30am. The flight thats opened up is the CX725 at 12:50pm later on that day. I think it is likely to be a $600 re-booking fee, but do you think its possible to get it changed free if I: 1) Rang MPO up day before flight to ask if it could be changed to the later flight? 2) Go to the airport as normal for the evening flight and ask to change at airport? Or is a change without penalty extremely unlikely? peasant Jun 22, 12, 3:15 am Depends on the fare. But if there is a change fee, then chance of them not collecting fee is extremely unlikely ernestnywang Jun 22, 12, 3:46 am 1) Rang MPO up day before flight to ask if it could be changed to the later flight? In my experience, MPO usually refuses to change a revenue TKT whose first segment is not yet flown. Awesom Andy Jun 22, 12, 8:25 am Not sure which fare type class O is, but assuming that it's the lowest (which it probably is), the "economy supersaver" fare type does not allow reboooking at all, while some of higher classes have a fee of $600 HKD. I think it's best if you simply stick to your current bookings in this case. I think I will have to just stick with original flight. Thanks for advice everyone. ricktoronto Jun 23, 12, 7:47 pm Yup, with further investigation it seems its changeable but only with $600 HKD fee. CX828 Jun 23, 12, 8:41 pm 11 1/2 hours more convenient is not worth $75 US? Wow. The only inconvenience to me was the fact that I would be arriving in the morning and not be able to check-in to a hotel until afternoon. I have since spoken to my hotel and have been offered an early check-in. |
