Travel Technology - Micro Simcard *tray* for iPhone3?

When traveling I use a jailbroken iPhone3 as a wifi hotspot. The simcards presently available are micro, which requires use of an adapter, and sometimes the simcard gets stuck in the phone and won't easily remove (if, say, I want to use it in my non-jailbroken iPhone4S to make a Skype call).
I have seen, someplace, replacement iPhone3 microsim *trays* that eliminate the need to use an adapter. But can't figure out where. Searching so far isn't coming up with them. Anyone here have a handle on them?
Realistically, why is there any need at all for a standard-sized simcard tray? I'd think anyone ordering a replacement would prefer one that was natively "micro."
Thanks!

I hate to be that guy, but did you even look at Amazon?

I bought a cutter on eBay for $3 and it came with two trays. Never has a problem removing micro Sims!

All the trays on that site are the same trays an iPhone3 comes with... all fitting standard simcards. Everything microsim is using an adapter.

My 56-year-old-eyes do not work like they used to; even with reading glasses it's a bit of a pain getting everything correctly into place. If I have to do that, fine, I'll make do, but it sure would be easier if I didn't.

Search on 'AFC Trident Micro SIM Card Adapter for Apple iPad and iPhone 4' and you should find them for about $1 each. Amazon or eBay.

it was called iphonemicrosim (http://iphonemicrosim.com/) but it's no more. if you use the wayback machine you can see the old site but i don't know how you could find the person who made them.

I just got an idea, a modification of something I'd seen elsewhere. Why not create my own "native" 3G Microsim tray by simply gluing the adapter permanently to a tray? Not the original tray it came with, since it might not work as planned. But the issue with the adapters is that you've got too many loose pieces trying to dislodge and wedge when removing, plus the fumble-finger issue getting things lined up to install.
Is there something wrong with this idea? Guess I'll let you know in a couple of days.

Yes - gluing adapter to a "native" tray sounds like a good idea. You definitely don't want loose pieces - I've already destroyed 2 usb modems this year when microsim got stuck or adapter got stuck in device.

If your adopter got stuck, then open the front assembly of your phone and you will have to access it when you disconnect the cable and must get it out correctly. Sim trays aren't expensive.

Sim trays aren't expensive.Right, been there done that! But I generally don't carry the disassembly tools for my iPhone when traveling. You're right, sim trays aren't expensive, so I can afford to mess up a couple of my home-made microsim sim trays and it's not a big deal.
It's surprising to me that you don't see others doing the same. It seems to make so much sense. Maybe that feeling will change when I actually try it. :D
