Is the Intercontinental Warsaw a new development or a re-branding of one of their existing properties (e.g. the v.good HH property or a long overdue rennovation of the Forum)?

From an article in "AGHZ": Inter-Continental wants to "expand with two new hotels" in 2003 and refers to Cologne and Warsaw. There's no further information about the hotel in Warsaw. It's not mentioned if another hotel is rebranded (Holiday Inn, Forum, or a non-chain hotel) or if the hotel is newly built.

The Intercontinental Warsaw looks good. Unless something very tall has been been built nearby the Holiday Inn since my last visit, I'm guessing that the Marriot property (three minutes from the main station, accross from the Palace of Science and Culture) has been acquired!

Inter-Continental Resort Berchtesgaden is scheduled for spring 2005.
There are a couple of new IC to open in europe in 2005. The current issue of HighStyle features an article about them, unfortunately I didn't bring it home, so I can't provide more details right now (one is in Duesseldorf as far as I remember), the total number was like 5 or so...
Maybe someone can provide more details, if it's of interest, I'd have to wait for may next stay in an IC (end of the month) to get more details.

I was reading bout all these in the mag a couple of months ago during an IC stay, & was surprised could find no mention of them, either on the IC website,FT or through a quick google.
Being someone who likes to plan leisure travel up to 350 days in advance, it's quite helpful to have these details for flight bookings.
From UK, there are loads of flights to Paphos (well from London with BA at least, all that matters to me!), and details of their Cyprus IC, which is indeed in Paphos, are here -

I'm afraid this is par for the course in Warsaw hotels though I'm dissapointed that this affects the Intercon. If you stay in the bar until closing time you can watch the action heat up towards the end of the evening (I once watched a fight almost break out between competing hookers in the Holiday Inn). If you watch carefully, you will see the not so subtle hand signals between bar man (who incidentally does a side line in pimping) and hooker.
