KLM Flying Dutchman - OT: Cathay Pacific - Best Baggage Delivery time at Schiphol?

Hi,

After sometime not flying with CX, I had a chance to fly them AMS-HKG-AMS. Returned today and had priority baggage. As most of you know, they have their own gate at the G area.
I was totally surprised that walking today from G7 through passport control in about 10 mins, I already saw the Priority Baggage already on the belt doing their turns. [I don't know how long before the other non-priority baggage came out]
This to me has been the faster baggage delivery that I have come across in AMS.
This proves that such expedited baggage delivery is possible at AMS.. why can't other airline and especially KLM do this? How do they do this?

Cheers!

OTOH: I was quite disappointed with their inflight service and seats. Still the old B747.

CX beat KL in C on the HKG route by miles. Better seat, better selection of food, proper champaign, better lounge in HKG, actual priority boarding, etc. Even the old CX C seat is lots better than the KL seat.

It's probably easier for an airline having just one flight per day to arrange for their handling agents to prioritise that luggage when it arrives, leading to speedier baggage delivery, than the home carrier that has several flights landing at the same time and that can not prioritise any single flight in the same way.

Its not about priority though, its about capacity. KLM's bag come out slow because the concurrent capacity of the systems and/or the people working for KLM handling simply is not enough. If KLM wanted all bags of all flights could come out within minutes of landing. Its a matter of costs (As always).

I wonder if the bags will come out quicker once the new baggage system is up and running.

As soon as one delayed project is completed, it is time to start on the next one.

Amazed the flight was actually on time one of the worst track records in the CX portfolio for on time flights

Yes I hate the signboard tells you that my baggage is coming in xx minutes and you outta hang around and wait.

You dont need to wait that long for bags at other large EU airports eg FRA. LHR excepted.

At AMS, the bad news is they usually say you have to wait 20 minutes, the good news is that they then beat that by 5...

Well, at least it seems that they make up some of that "lost time" by their super-speedy baggage delivery at AMS!!!!
