90% of the issues there are customer related, not caused by Expedia.... Do your homework, and be aware of what you are doing, and you shouldnt have any problems.

Google just about ANYTHING "ripped me off" and you will get similar results.....

Welcome to FT zymster.

Sorry, no idea what you are talking about. Expedia is a reputable company. If you just googled and found a complaint, I would probably ignore it. People complain about everything.

My elderly father (not exactly a computer geek) made a reservation for a future date and put in the wrong date. I discovered his mistake within five minutes and called Expedia to rectify it. That was four days ago. If you were dealing with any reputable hotel chain this would be easily rectified. Not with Expedia. They tell you the hotel chain must approve it and told me to call the hotel and get approval from the manager. So I called and spoke with the manager. He told me he would gladly change the date or cancel the reservation. He also told me this was a typical Expedia ploy and when I called them back they would not change or cancel it. He said my credit card charge was to Expedia, not the hotel which I already knew. He was right, called and spoke with four different representatives since then, none of them would help with this at all. Guess I better monitor Dad's computer time.

Not to put too fine a point on this but Expedia didn't rip you off. Your Dad input the wrong date, that isn't Expedia's fault. I can understand that you'd like to change the dates. I also understand the frustration of being told one thing by Expedia and then not getting the follow through with regards to the date change but Expedia didn't rip you off.

Like I said....90% of issues caused by the customers themselves. If someone isnt tech savy, then they probably shouldnt be shopping online. Its not like you can make a reservation without it giving you about 3 different times to make sure it is correct before paying. Expedia is completely right that the hotel must approve it in some cases. You need to get Expedia on the phone, and have them call the hotel while you hold. Otherwise you could make up anything.
