Hi all,

a quick rant from my side:

I am getting more and more frustrated with the star partners not being able to recognize A3/Star status and 99% of my flights not crediting eventhough the number is in the booking and on the boarding pass.

I am gold and before that i was a blue (star silver) for around 4 months before turning gold.

Last month alone I have flown to DXB LHR SIN FRA MUC AUH BKK ARN AMS with LX/LH/MS/TK and none of them where able to recognize my status ( silver or gold for that matter)
I usually checkin online or via the machines and after that each time I went to the counters asking them if it reflected the status ( since it was not on the boarding pass) but they couldnt.
It always just says that i am a non status pax. The number was in the PNR and also on the boarding pass but with no status attached.

Up to this point.. i can live with it, since I have the card so no problem with lounge acces and all of that

But from the flights I have taken sofar last month: 1 flight has credited automatically. ( the other flights with the same carrier in the same pnr i had to request manually and then was credited on a later stage)

So i had to manually request to credit the flights each time.
I always check the booking classes so I know which flight earns me miles and which ones dont ( as i travel Y class mostly)
But its starting to get really annoying that i simply cannot depend for the system to auto credit my miles or for other arilines to recognize me as a *Gold passener.

Last week I had 2 more flights and same thing over again.. so I am growing a bit frustrated that somewhere the systems are not syncing with eachother

Am I the only one who is suffering from this problem? Or am I just having really bad luck so far?

Rather than "Growing a bit frustrated with A3", shouldn't the title read "Growing a bit frustrated with LX/LH/MS/TK"? ;)

PS By the way, with two exceptions last year (ticketed by bmi, flown LH), I've never had any problems with LX/LH/TK.

I personally had some trouble getting TK to accept my A3 number, but that was a long time ago. Never had trouble on LH, even with the fact that LH forces scandinavians to do OLCI through SK website.

A suggestion is that you try to do CI at the desk next time (and bypass all machines and OLCI) That way no one "messed" with your checkin except for the CI staff, and you can be more persistent in your request for *G to be reflected on the BP. You can also ask them if they get any special error messages or anything else shows on the screen.

*A seems to have a system for sharing info regarding status pax, so if the card is recognized but shown as "non-status-pax" it may be either that A3 didn't send out status info for your card correctly or that the checkin station didn't receive it properly. Difficult to know which, but if you get "the full story" from a CI staff, you can relate this to A3 M&B customer service when you call them to get this sorted.

BTW your name on the card does fully match the name on the tickets, right?

My experience on LX flights is that status is properly stated on the BP if my A3 number has been in the reservation at the moment of checking in. It never, but never, showed when my A3 number was introduced during check-in. It happend to me in Switzerland (BSL, GVA, ZRH) as well as in BCN, where the LX handling agent is also swissport....

Just checked in for an LH flight. As it was a redemption booking, my SQ number was in the booking. Handed over my A3 card at check in, saw the agent look all over the card and figured she didn't know the code. Told her it was A3, number duly entered, and the boarding pass correctly reflected A3*G. She mentioned that sometimes they have to manually override the status that prints on the BP, but this time it picked it up automatically.

When I flew LX to JFK last month; my boarding passes (printed at home) all had "gold" written on them in a way too big font. The miles were also credited to my account a few days after my flights; so no complaints from my side. A few months ago I did have to retroclaim a few SN and LH flights, probably due to Miles&More being moved to new servers.

I've never had any problems. Even when requesting miles when I did not give my number: miles were promptly credited to me.

It does sound like you have a problem other than just A3. I haven't had any problems getting A3 to credit. I don't have my gold card yet, though, so I can't speak on that part.
