I didn't know about this. How long has it been going on? [I searched but didn't find anything relevant.]

According to www.germanwings.com, 4U now fly from LHR to Cologne and Stuttgart. Has anybody seen 4U at LHR or are they op BD or LH?

I found some €49.98 round trips LHR-CGN with no payment fee for Visa Electron and Visa debit cards or for 'direct debit'. Pay extra for checked baggage, seat selection, catering and other payment type or combine some of the offers for a 'best' fare of €36 extra round trip. And book a 'private' seat next to you for the same price. :D

M&M or Boomerang Club miles.

ETA: Wait a minute. I did read about 4U taking over some LH routes but hadn't appreciated it would apply to LHR nor that it seems to be the first LCC with a LHR schedule.

Yup, operating out of T1, but I think, from the signs I saw near bmi's check-in area they use somewhere towards the back of the T1 check-in area:

"Section J for flights 06.00 am to 03.00 pm and section C for flights after 03.00 pm."

They took over CGN from LH in March

Surely IB's ClickAir were first? They have been operating into LHR for a while now, laterally as Vueling.

They took over STR from Feb I think.

There is a deal to use the LH lounge in STR if you have Star status, but not in LHR.
