Or fly a short flight somewhere. nsx Jun 20, 12, 3:47 pm Cheap weekend car rental looks the simplest to me. Others here are experts on that. chuckywang Jun 20, 12, 3:47 pm I'm signed up for RR dining ... how quickly do those points post to your account? nsx Jun 20, 12, 3:52 pm I'm signed up for RR dining ... how quickly do those points post to your account? Regular points take a week or so. Signup bonus (for $25 spent) maybe an extra 2 weeks, but I don't recall for sure. ftnoob Jun 21, 12, 12:13 am OP, peruse this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/southwest-rapid-rewards/1280180-cp-crunch-time-suggestions.html toomanybooks Jun 21, 12, 10:01 am I have transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to the account of an unrelated person so he could redeem something. It was instantaneous. Maybe you can convert them into WN points in the account of an unrelated person. Anyone know? chuckywang Jun 21, 12, 2:30 pm I have transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to the account of an unrelated person so he could redeem something. It was instantaneous. I don't want to transfer 1000 points from UR (the lowest you can transfer to RR) just to get 290 RR points. toomanybooks Jun 21, 12, 3:15 pm The thing is...I only need 290 RR points. I don't want to transfer 1000 points from UR (the lowest you can transfer to RR) just to get 290 RR points. If you have UR yourself, you'd be getting 1000 WN, not 290. They don't expire if you have activity within 2 years. 1.67 cents value per UR point is decent. If you don't have any, you could probably find someone to (against the rules I think) transfer 1000 to you for $25 or less. Renting a car, hotel, etc. would cost more than that and yield fewer points. Even flowers would be over $40. Diners is 1500 (plus a few cents) > 1200 WN. Diners specifically allows transfers to other people, if I recall right. If you have Choice/Wyndham, etc. those are possibilities Not sure how many other options you have w/o credit card spend, flight, hotel, or rental car. Take a look at WN's RR partner page. I am assuming you don't need them to be Companion-Pass-qualifying. sdsearch Jun 21, 12, 4:23 pm The thing is...I only need 290 RR points. I don't want to transfer 1000 points from UR (the lowest you can transfer to RR) just to get 290 RR points. Are 710 UR points (the difference between 1000 and 290) really worth that much to you that it'd be such a big loss??? What is it that you need them for? I sure hope it's not for booking a flight with points. In that case, you may not realize it yet, but the points price fluctuates as fast as the paid price fluctuated, which is really fast! By the time you get these points, assuming it's not someplace that does an instant transfer (and while UR may instantly transfer to several hotel programs, does it instantly transfer to Southwest?), the points price for the flight you want to book is likely to change. That's the issue with RR 2.0 points. You kinda always need to have more than you think you need, since you never know the exact price for very long (points prices for flights tend to be stable for a much shorter time than the average amount of time to transfer any points from elsewhere or to earn a bonus on any activity elsewhere).
