Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - KLM or Air France - premium economy

I Am planning a trip from GOT to HAV this spring and have therfore som questions about premium economy when flying with KLM or Air france.
I normaly only travel with Star Alliance but since the only SA-route to Havanna goes via Toronto and takes about 10h more then the KLM/AF-routes i think about chose one of these to airlines instead.

My question is, wich one of KLM and Air France offers the best premium economy? If i have a choose between them, wich one offers best seats, legroom, food etc?

I actually only after the extra legroom (i'm 6ft4 / 196cm) and i know after travling with KLM 777 (ACC-AMS & MNL-AMS, the worst flight in my life, after 10h i started to plan who to easiest amputate my legs) that i dont fit in the normal KLM economy seat.

It seems like AF only operates some strange type of 777-300 on the CDG - HAV route and acc to Seat Guru seems it impossible to book a seat with wide leg room without having an infant or some other good reason (I fail to book a good seat with plenty legroom on the AF-booking site). Is "Alizne" the AF-name of Premium Economy?

However, this is maybe not a problem, if i choose KLM i can just book Economy comfort and problem is solved.

Thanks for your answers and your assistance.

KLM has no premium economy, just regular Y with extra legroom and recline.

AF does a separate cabin (and fare) class, usually called PV but with variations; KLM's EC just means special seats with more pitch at the front of the cabin where you pay an extra fee which is discounted or free for KLM and SkyTeam elites.

Is "Alizne" the AF-name of Premium Economy?

Alize is the name of the premium economy product for destinations on the Caribbean & Indian Ocean network. Premium Voyageur is the name for the premium economy product for other long-haul destinations.

I just got back from Mexico and flew Premium Voyageur on AF to CDG. It's definitely better then KLM's EC, since you've got a fixed shell seat, more space and private feel cabin (only the EC on the 744 has a 'private feel', other KLM's EC is just in the main Y cabin). If you get the cheap PV fare, it's not that much higher on some routes, then with a KLM ticket + around €300,- for EC rt.

Only PV for sleeping is not an option. I thought some people maybe overstated their opinion, but the seat is terrible for sleeping. You can sleep better in a EC seat, then in a PV seat in my (humble) opinion.

I completely agree with you. PV cabin/seat is great for the space, the amenities, the priority check-in/boarding (for those who do not benefit of this by a Skyteam status), the miles earned (100 or 125%) and the PTV size. But the seat is terrible for sleeping. As a whole, would I choose PV over EC ?certainly

Thanks for all the answers.

Just for fun, i think i will book KLM EC one way and AF Alize / PV the other.

Just one more question, how is the service if you compare AF to KLM?

What are the alcoholic beverage policies in Premium Voyageur class? Unlimited Champagne or 1 glass only? Is there wine served with meals? Trying to guage a recent Premium Voyageur experience (Paris to SFO). Agree with others forget about sleeping in Premium Voyageur.

KLM EC is normal economy service = relatively basic and relatively friendly. AF Alize (as mentioned, based on the OP's route, premium economy would be Alize, not PV) is a separate service. Meal is business class type (different from PV which is economy class type with business class starter and dessert now), full bar (champagne is not available in Y on COI routes if I'm not mistaken, and I believe passengers receive a small bottle of wine on the tray with their meal), dedicated personnel. Even though things are slightly changing now, PV and Alize were two very different philosophies: PV was economy service for the most part (economy drinks, economy meals till recently, no lounge access) but a clearly nicer/more spatious seat, Alize was a slightly nicer seat (but originally not nearly the same as the PV seat) but significantly improved service.

@chang11 - drink service in PV is exactly the same as economy. Champagne is served as an aperitif before the main meal, and the number of bottles they charge on board for Y and PV is low enugh that there is generally little or no leftover after that. If there is, FAs will give you refills in the galley if you go and ask until it's gone. Wine is available with meals on all AF flights except domestic.

Hate to inform that my recent flight in PV served ALL economy foods. No biz starter and think it was chocolate...dessert should still be eco anyway.

When was your flight ?
I flew PV in june and the starter was an improved one compared to Y. But it was not the J starter. Dessert was the Y one. Return flight : don't know because I was falling asleep, so I skipped the meal.
