I know Marriott credit card newbies can be annoying and make mistakes. I am one of them.
My Cat 1-4 free night certificate was set to expire June 18. I asked for an extension on June 16 (my mistake) and they said I wouldn't know until the 18th. They also mentioned calling Chase, but I don't have the card anymore so an extension seemed unlikely.
So I booked a hotel stay for the 17th on my free night certificate. This was confirmed by reservations and at the front desk of the hotel.
Check my account today, they renewed my certificate which was surprising. But they took 20,000 points and left me with a certificate. Now I can't afford an upcoming 5th night free stay :-(.
Called Marriott Rewards, talked to that useless answering machine. The time it takes to reach an agent through that system is horrible. Agent says they'll get back to me in 48 hours.
