Midwest - priority screening in STL airport?

All: new to the forums so apologies if this is the wrong place to ask...but I've just started to travel to STL and will be doing quite a lot of it in the coming weeks. I've got (low level) elite status on both AA and United. I noticed last time I was in the airport that there was no elite security/screening line...just first class passengers only. But I also noticed that there were WAY more folks in the priority line than could possibly be flying first class.

Any idea if the "first class" line at STL is really just for those with status? If the later, any idea if what status you need to hop in?

At AA checkpoints, anyone with Priority AAccess -- which includes AA Gold, Platinum and ExPlat -- can use the priority lane.

Regarding the A concourse (UA), I've used the priority / first class line as a DL Platinum while not flying in F.

St. Louis has pre-check (which allows those registered in the program, if selected for pre-check) to go to a special lane, NO shoes or belts have to be removed. This program is discussed in the Travel and Security forum here on FT.

So far PreCheck is only available on the C concourse (AA / Frontier / Cape Air). A TSA guy did they it will be expanded to the A concourse (UA / DL / US) but did not give a timeline.
