Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Lounge access question

I will be making a connection in HKG with some time to kill. My incoming flight on KA metal, CX codeshare from China, connecting to a UO flight to destination in China. Arrival and departure gates are both in T1. My questions:
1. Can I stay airside?
2. As AA EXP (oneworld Emerald), which lounges would I be eligible to gain access, if any?
3. Given Wing First is still under refurbishment, which lounge is best for a shower and refreshment (assume if I could gain access)?
4. Finally, should I decide to head out to the city, could I stop by the CX Arrival Lounge?
Thanks in advance.

1. May be, depends if UO can re-tag your luggage at HKIA because CX/KA has no interline relationship with UO/HX.
If they are unable to do so you need to go landside and re-check
2. You may get denied because you are not departing on OW metal, but you can always use the Arrival
4. Yes

1. Yes
2. No lounge access as an OW-EM
3. N/A
4. I think so.

Off Topic: with the recent news I already tell everyone in my extended family NOT to travel on UO / HX ... I just don't know when they will turn upside down.

Just got back from a trip to Sanya on HX and i must say.. i'm really disappointed and don't recommend anyone on them. They are so good at arriving and departing LATE:td:

Two notes:
1.) HK airport only has one "terminal" where the gates are. T1 and T2 are strictly landside check-in areas only. All the planes depart from the same area.
2.) You need to be flying on a OW carrier to access the departure lounges. As posted above, your only option would be to use "The Arrival" lounge landside in HK (assuming your passport allows you into HK), which frankly I don't think is a very good option for all the inconvenience of going back out through immigration landside, and returning airside (through immigration again) for your flight. HK Airport has plenty of good food and shopping options, is airy, lots of windows, has free wifi and a plethora of seating.

What's the latest news on UO/HX - apart from the Lai See column (I think) in the SCMP. Did I miss it (apart from that comment) and has more happened. Have one trip scheduled with them to London in July so I'm keen to avoid any problems if they're looming ahead of us!

They owe literally every ground service company on the Airport Island, from HAECO to Catering to HK Airport Authority. For London with a super low load factor, I simply not convinced that actual people managing the company but a gang of monkeys
Not fun at all

Thanks, I see, yes that's what I read, not good news as you say, sounds a bit like Oasis - only this time with the backing of the Chinese government so perhaps a little bit more financial backing. But there are CX and BA seats on the days I need so I'll need to keep an eye open for developments.
I guess this shows how hard it is to start a new long-haul carrier (or even move into the long-haul market) these days.

No, China Government is not involve in this airline (their mother company, HU, is the only bigger airline in China which is wholly private)

Thank you everyone for chiming in. Very helpful info.
If I plan to stay airside, I would not check bag on the KA flight (inbound to HKG).
