I have a problem with my VX travel bank.

For some reason when they did the conversion in March, my travel bank amounts were going into my partners travel bank.

Virgin told me the only way this could be fixed was to close each old Virgin account and open new accounts for me and my partner.

I am hesitant to close my original account as I am a Founding Member and was told by an employee that Virgin is going. to a tiered system and Founding Members would have more privileges. They said they could not put “Founding Member” on my new account, yet another employee told me there is no benefit in being a Founding Member.

I currently have to book flights, use the travel bank number, then go back in and input my old FF number.

Virgin says they cannot associate my old FF number and my new travel bank.

I fly at least once a week with VX, have written an actual letter to corporate but have not received a response.

Any suggestions?

I believe there is Travel Bank merge account facility - they were able to do this for me on B6. (I was given some funds for lost baggage or something and as I do not fly with them, I wanted to give it to a friend of mine who is a B6 frequent flyer - after initial 'no, it cannot be done' - I sent an e-mail to Cust Care and they manager to merge my account to her account - B6 also uses SABRE, so I think basically it is the same functionality). You need to find a Customer Care rep who has full access to Travel Bank admin tool - majority of them would have read access only. I would call them and ask to talk to the supervisor.
