India-based Airlines - Flying Jet Airways with United Gold FF#

One way BLR to DEL in Mid-August, trying to make up on mind on flying Jet Airways and maybe getting some points on United or flying Kingfisher, which I’m a sliver member of (but don’t collect miles on it or Oneworld)

Does United Gold get me anything then possible miles traveling on Jet Airways? I know they are not part of *A, so *A Gold benefits like luggage ext.. will not apply, but they have a individual agreement with United, hoping maybe that extend to luggage or something else. The flight I’m looking at taking is under the Jet Airways ticket but operated by Jet Lite(W Fare), so I think that may get me no miles anyways.

I‘m thinking of Kingfisher since I have their Sliver status, but have heard cautious tails of them randomly cancelling flights and don’t want to be stuck with a walk up fare, since they only have one direct flight in the morning and the rest are stops in the late afternoon.

Is the BLR to DEL morning route a popular one for them(Kingfisher) to cancel? Any cautious tails on choosing either or airline?

Any route is a popular route for KF now.. The airline may well just cease to exist by mid August.

You can run a check on United as to how many miles a W fare on Jet will get you. If it's not too much you might want to try Indigo. It's by far the best LCC in the country. Clean flights, on time and good fares.

Honestly, I wouldn't care about FF points for a one-off flight anyway. The flight is very short, and you won't get any benefits.

You're better off choosing based on schedule, price (Indigo, SpiceJet, or GoAir are the LCCs), or FSC experience (Air India or Jet Airways - not JetLite or JetKonnect).

Apart from Kingfisher, all the airlines domestically are pretty reliable.

Well BLR-DEL is a 2hr 30m flight and yields roughly 800 miles on 9W which is decent for a domestic flight..

unfortunately you will get no benefits but you should get the miles for your flight....

kingfisher is flying a very limited schedule so i don't think they will be cancelling any more flights....but the condition of their aircrafts are pretty bad & their service has declined due to their financial troubles....i would not fly them if i were you....

just stick with jet if you want to earn miles or one of the lcc carries (indigo is the best) if the price 7 schedule work for you....

unfortunately you will get no benefits but you should get the miles for your flight....No UA miles if flown in W-class on Jet.

If you insist on flying Jet, I would simply bank them to their program or another one that allows awards miles flying Jet in W-class...

you are right....nothing for w class....Sometimes banking to United is better value than Jet...do it as often as I can...
