LAN LANPASS - MVD To LAX, Which Direction & Carriers???

Have an upcoming trip from MVD to LAX. It looks like I have 2 decent choices...

1. AA:MVD>MIA>LAX
2. LAN:MVD>Santiago>Lima>LAX

Seats will be in Business/First. I am leaning towards AA since the MVD>MIA flight is a direct red eye.

I would prefer to try LAN, but it looks like I have to stop in Lima in order to get to LAX as there are no Santiago>LAX non-stops )-:

Look forward to hearing feedback!

I'd take another stop to avoid (1) MIA immigration/customs, and (2) the real possibility of the last 5+ hours of your trip to be on a domestic 2 cabin plane.

The LIM connection on the northbound is easy - about an hour on the ground, and the last 8 hours of your trip are uninterrupted in your inflight bed. The southbound can be annoying, as you arrive LIM late, and then the flight to SCL is short. Also, your SCL connections will be quite easy - a walk to transit security, and then a quick scan and back upstairs to departures. The SCL LA Neruda lounge is pretty nice.

Assuming your trip is one way, LA for sure. Assuming your trip is RT, it is a closer call with AA.

Dear EBay,

Appreciate the feedback. Since I have Global Entry, I find Customs Immigration to now be a breeze. On the domestic part of the trip from MIA it would be on American's 777 Flagship Service in first. Again, my preference would be to go LAN, but I am having a very difficult time justifying the extra connection in Lima )-:

LIM isn't usually a connection. It is usually a stop where you don't get off the plane. (Occasionally there's an equipment swap.) I suppose flying to LAX is a big difference than SFO where we often only have 757 service to/from MIA.

The only other way to do it that I found, is to take COPA through PTY. The problem there, is it the 737 ( obviously with no lie flat seats).
