California - Trip with the Kids to San Diego
I am thinking of taking the kids to San Diego at the end of the summer, right before school starts, well, at least for one of them, my daughter is 7 and my boy will barely be one year at the time of the travel.
So, was hoping to get a Hilton property that has a nice pool, or close to the beach.
For activities, maybe taking them to the Zoo, Sea World, and a day or two just to relax and see something local
I haven't vacationed in San Diego since 1978, so I am sure at lot has changed.
Any suggestions where to stay, go and do?
Thanks

I think the Zoo and Seaworld are good. At Seaworld we did a diner with Shamu, priceless expirience with the kids.
IIRC Legoland is not far. I am a sucker for Legos.
I like the beach at Coronodo. While there you might see some SEALs. (Navy SEALs that is.)

We've been hitting SD for the past 2 years solid.
Just heading for our 4th...or is it 5th trip (?? LOL) in two weeks.
We have a 6yo and a 2yo.
Zoo, Legoland, etc will be busy. And quite honestly for the 7yo SKIP Legoland, not worth it as it really is a kiddy and I mean KIDDY place. Legos
SD Zoo is probably good if you visit first thing in the morning.
We did Seaworld a couple of years ago on probably the hottest day of the year! It was good but be mindful of the heat.
Coronado Beach is a must. We will be in SD from the 17th-25th this month and will probably sit at the beach most of the time.
Balboa park is fantastic.
USS Midway is great.
Outlet shopping (Las Americas) isn't bad but be careful because if you miss the exit the only stop then is the Mexican Border!
With a one year old you have to be mindful of nap times obviously.

In Balboa Park, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is the most fun for kids, but the whole area is great---playground, space to run, interesting museums, free organ concerts. The Birch Aquarium is good if you're not up for the full-on theme park atmosphere of Sea World. Legoland is expensive and only for the very young or very enthusiastic Lego fans. Old Town could be a good choice, especially if there's a festival of some sort. Your seven-year-old would probably like the New Children's Museum (near the convention center).
