Just bought one, looking for insight on some recipes, hoping some FTers have cooked this bird before & can share some recipe(s)/idea(s).

We tried this soup recipe from the NYT: Black-Skinned Chicken Slow-Cooked in Dark Soy Sauce

I also poured the soup over tofu noodles for more sustenance. Quite tasty.

I'll be interested to try a roasted black chicken at some point as I like the stronger flavor.

AFAIK, it is used for medicinal purposes (you don't eat it except for some restorative properties).
