There is one pilot who comes out and introduces himself individually to everyone in F before departure. He doesn't have the loudest voice - so you have to listen carefully to hear what he is saying.

This got me thinking about something I had forgotten about. Back in the early 2000's I seem to remember flying AS first and had the captain a few times come out in person, and while not introducing himself individually, giving a quick pre-flight briefing to the FC cabin. He didn't say anything he wasn't going to say over the PA in a few minutes, but it seemed like a nice personal touch for the FC cabin. I haven't had this happen to me in a long time, I was wondering if it was pilot discretion or if this is something that used to happen that no longer does?

It happens every once in awhile and is a nice touch. Nevertheless, it would be more enjoyable if I was enjoying a cocktail at the time ;)

On the Inaug flight to PHL the Captain was in the cabin and used the PA system to address the pax- fun flight ;)

Never had any interaction with Captains on AS flights. On AA thought, I've once had the captain come on in the boarding area to explain a delay and what is being done about it. I've also had Cpt. Ken <edited> leave his business card on each seat in F on at least 3 of my AA flights SEA-DFW, with a welcome note handwritten on the back. Nice touch.

Sounds like Mike R....he's a recipient of Alaska's 'Customer Service Legend' award. If time permits he always greets the passengers in FC as well as everyone over the PA before departure. He's a great guy...super nice.

Captain Dale introduced himself and thanked us yesterday on our LAS-BLI flight. Nice touch.

The Captain came back to greet / brief First Class on AS2 SEA-DCA today. It was a nice touch!
