Looking at what's available, I'm trying to decide between:

SIN to LHR in SQ C (77W)
LHR to IAD in UA F

or

SIN to BKK in TG C
BKK to FRA/CDG in TG F (A380)
FRA/CDG to IAD in UA F

I'm leaning toward the 2nd option because the TG A380 looks cool, but you could almost argue that SQ Long Haul C is just as good as TG F based on the mock ups... Very similar total trip time, but would have to be at the airport in SIN a few hours earlier and similar arrival time

i think go with option 1... both TG and SQ are good airlines but the first one has 1 stop and you are flying business... I rather sleep through the whole thing than have an extra stop.. yea 380 is a huge new plane.. but the seats are very similar.. if u were flying econ.. one thing.. but biz should be very very similar just no point of the extra stop.. my 2 cents :)

I would pick the second option. TG 380 F seems so much cooler than SQ 77 C. Plus, you would get to access the first class lounge in BKK.

Note it's TG F (in the 380) vs SQ J

Is this an award booking?

I noticed the new SQ 77W flight to LHR on Aeroplan last week. I tried to book it, but it turned out to be another example of phantom award availability.

Yes it is ... That'd be a real bummer if it was.. I'm looking at May '13

The TG 1st class lounge is very cool, but having enough time to take advantage of the food/massage/cart means a longer trip.

If I wasn't time constrained and if there are viable backup flights (in case of delays in Europe), I'd probably do the 2nd. Mrs. Billygoat says go for the 1 stopper, since it's not like you 'slumming it' on SQ business ;)

If you are already "paying" for F - why not do F the whole way.
United F is really just C, and not even good C - so why spend the extra miles, if just that segment is gonna be in "F"....
