Hello -

I have Hyatt Diamond status and wanted to know if I could use my status to obtain better pricing on a banquet hall I want to book (for a wedding reception) at a Hyatt Regency.

Has anyone ever tried to do this? It is definitely not listed under the benefits under the member webpage.

Of course, I will call in to find out for sure, but wanted to get a sense of whether this was something that has been attempted before and what the results were.

Thanks,
SK

IMO, your negotiation skills will have a bigger impact than your Diamond status. There's a lot that goes into this, including what catering services you order, how many sleeping rooms you guarantee and whether there are other events (particularly events larger than yours). If you want to receive GP points, be sure that is clearly written into the contract.

Thanks! You're right, negotiation will be a huge factor here. It never occurred to me that I could receive GP points for this, I'll be sure to ask @:-)
