I need help finding CX business class award tickets from LAX-HKG for late Aug/early September this year. I will be traveling with my cat so I prefer to have a direct flight but have been having a lot of trouble finding these. I am trying to use my avios points to book the tickets but after searching online(both BA, CX and JAL websites) for hours and calling BA representative, I have not found anything at all. I even purchased the KVS tool in hopes of finding tickets but still couldn't... Can anyone please point me in the right direction????? =(

Aug/Sept is peak travel season. Revenue tickets are usually sold out as it is, and thus award availability will be harder to come by. You are also kinda leaving it late. Summer travel is usually booked months in advance.
You just gotta keep checking for seats.
Asia Miles members of course have the option of waitlisting for awards and when one seat opens up, it will go to them and not the general pool.
Note that if you get that award seat, your pet cannot be in the cabin with you and must go into the baggage hold.
Welcome to FlyerTalk and the Cathay Pacific Asia Miles forum.

As already posted, it may be too late.
The conventional wisdom on the AA board is that CX will open premium seats 1-2 weeks prior to departure, based of course on availability.
Good luck OP.

Thanks for the responses!!!! I did not know that Aug/Sep is the peak season. I thought tickets would be easy to come by since I could travel mid-week instead of the weekends. I do availabilities on JAL flights but was not sure how my pet would be handled at stop over in Japan since she would be traveling in the cargo area.
If I go ahead and book JAL flights, would I be able to cancel the avios award booking if I do find CX award tickets later on? I only saw the terms and conditions on BA's website where cancelling the tickets within 24 hours of departure would mean forfeiting the miles.
Thanks again!! Really appreciate your feedback!!!

As your question pertains to BA's AVIOS points' redemption, it is best if you ask above question at the BA forum.
