France - Does anyone know why or when the CDG RCC went missing?

When I left Paris March 15,2012 both the RCC and *Gold lounges in CDG Terminal 1 were available. When I left on June 14, 2012, the RCC was boarded up and only the
*Gold lounge was open. I couldn't get any answers about whether this was temporary, permanent, or something else altogether. Anyone know anythng about this?

I have no details to offer but I am not surprised. UA has gone from 6 non-stops a day to the USA to 2, and I've read that the Paris FA base was dismanteled too.
Hard to justify a Club with only 2 flights a day. Sort of a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Thanks for the response. But. . . for the record, I go in and out of CDG quite a lot, know a number of the senior gate agents and RCC agents, and everyone
has been cordial and accomodating for years. Except for the flaky wifi in the old UA RCC in Terminal 1, I've never had any problems at all. I'm concerned now that the *Gold lounge will be impossible crowded, if it has to accomodate all the passengers who previously used both clubs. I also hate those stairs in the *Gold lounge.

And I thought AA's schedule was pathetic--2x JFK, + BOS, ORD, DFW, MIA. Seems like AF/DL has the volume from CDG.

Goalie's right, one should consider the CO flights that are now part of the UA offerings.
One should also consider that UA was flying 757s on some of those routes, which changes the seating and upgrade dynamics a lot, and last winter caused quite a few flights to have to stop for fuel. I haven't kept up on this point-has UA changed its equipement or are the 757s still being used TATL?

They are flying bigger planes out of IAD for the summer, but seem to be planning a switch back to 757's in the fall. I've also heard rumours about 757's out of ORD, which seems unlikely. . . but.. . So for the moment I've abandoned sfo-iad-cdg, since there's no guarantee of equipment, and I don't want any more unpleasant surprises. Of course, everything changes, if AF has a Z fare sale---no more waiting for SWU upgrades and terminal changes in Chicago. I could get used to that.

They just had a Z fare sale. I got CDG-YUL-CDG on the A380 for less than €2000. And you can even find those at non-sale times if there is availability. It's especially easy to find CDG-JFK Z fares.

Unfortunately the star lounge there is not all that. Every time I've been in it there seems to be little food left...and lots of dirty dishes everywhere.
