Looks like 54% voted against the 3rd runway. Of course this comes on the heels of the terminal 2 expansion project underway. Wonder if MUC will exercise their veto power and if that would let them move forward with the runway plan.

LH just can't catch a break lately when dealing with airports and extra runways.....

Well perhaps they then should focus on bringing the message across why it is needed. Never saw such a ...... campaign. "World city or the sticks" really doesn't cut it. Especially if the general feel of the major populace in and around Munich is a bit anti further growth since normal people seem contemplating not to be able to afford ever rising rent and cost of living in and around the Weltstadt mit Herz.

The anti Runway folks made a smart move getting a vote to happen in Munich... no where else in bavaria is the density of tree huggers larger. :td:

I didnt really see the need for the third runway

LGW does not even have 2 runways

LHR desperately needs a 3rd and the stupid government still cant make up its mind

MUC didnt need one IMO they were just becoming megamaniacs

And the 4th runway at FRA may have restrictions but all this moaning from LH is rather rich, at least the German government ALLOWED a new runway to be built, plus a new Airport in Berlin, it would take decades for anything like that to happen here in the UK
