Hello, my work schedule will have me traveling ORD-CLT, ORD-CAE for a project. Client is booking air travel on US. I'm UA Silver, and *A Silver. Is there anything in particular that needs to be done in order for me to maximize my travel, what about upgrade possibilities? I will be getting the miles for the trip, no problem there, just wondering if there is anything special that needs to be done. Upon booking, should I give my MP # for the reservation? how do I go about it?
Sorry for asking, but our company secretary is the one that handles all sorts of travel/hotel arrangements, but she retired recently, and I'm only familiar with OW, still a newb on *A. Thanks.
As with other *A airlines US doesn't upgrade *A silver/gold as part of the complimentary upgrade.
You will board with Zone 2 I believe that is about the perk you'll get.
... what about upgrade possibilities?...
For complimentary upgrade possibilities, you'd need to be US Preferred. You could sign up for Trial Preferred (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-airways-dividend-miles/1161246-trial-preferred-status-merged-master-thread.html), assuming your project down South is long enough for you to be flying US quite a bit. ORD-CLT is about 600 miles, CLT-CAE < 100 miles (but as US Preferred you'd get 500 miles minimum)
If staying with UA for miles accumulation, enter your UA MP # to your US reservation at booking, or later on by calling in or at the airport, for the Miles to be posted to your UA account (I believe UA only allows actual miles flown on US to be credited).

Based on what I've been seeing the past week or two on CLT-ORD, good luck on getting any upgrades as a Silver (CLT-CAE may be different assuming its a 70+ seat RJ (which I doubt given the CAE market size))..
Some of those A321s are completely filled out on preferred seats a week in advance (and there are a lot of preferred seats on a 321)....

Will see on the trial preferred match. Not sure how long this will last.
