Italy - Lido di Jesolo (Venice)
We're looking at going to Lido di Jesolo for a week in high summer. It's convenient for direct flights from London City, we want the beach (and preferably a beach-facing hotel), we always enjoy Italy - but we don't know any places there.
Any recommendations for a four star-type place that people have enjoyed ?

Just as an FYI, there are no flights to Lido de Jesolo, you'll be flying to either Venice or Treviso.

You should inquire for accomodation well in advance, for the entire season is solid booked since winter-early spring at the best, if you think of going there with minimal advance in the mid of high season you'll be disappointed. You stand higher chances if you're going from end august to september, by then most of the italians will have returned back to work, the weather is undoubtely nicer and places can be found with minimal hassle. As bdemaria correctly state, you will get either to VCE or TSF and none of them is closer to your destination, and AFAIK there is not yet a LCY connection.

VCE is quite close to Jesolo. Maybe 20-30 minutes by car if I recall correctly. Sorry but I cannot remember the names of the hotels, but there are a few nice ones on the beach and I saw availability when I was there a couple years ago.
