Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Miles&Smiles Credit Card To Be Available Outside Of Turkey

TK and Garanti Bank have rebranded the "Shop&Miles" credit card to "Miles&Smiles" and are planning to offer the new affinity credit card program to members residing outside of Turkey. No news yet on where and when this will happen.

BTW, M&S members that already have the M&S CC can now convert their miles earned through CC spending to status miles. The ratio being 5 to 1 ( 5 CC bonus mile = 1 Status Mile) for up to 40.000 status miles.

I'm amazed at the lengths TK is willing to go to devalue E/E+ membership.

There is also a box in the profile section where you can sign up for a phone call if you are interested about the credit card. Probably they are thinking about US-market. Guys and girls down there don't get enough miles! :rolleyes:

Apperantly, according to TK Chairman Hamdi Topçu, the number of U.S. based TK M&S members has reached 80.000 and the recent status match frenzy must have swollen the number even further. The more the marrier:D

Anyone know if there has been any progress on this? I'm in Canada and really want a better way to accumulate more M&S miles...... A credit card would definitely do that for me....

I hope I can get the card too - based in Scandinavia where Turkey has good relation with.

Do not fully agree (yes they seem to give away E). 5 to 1 status mile, IMO, is a terrible value for US residents. I'd be better off just doing UA mileage runs for both bonus and status miles.

How does this make TK merrier? Forcing those members to credit miles toward TK? I'm not really that concerned about CIP Lounge at IST as most don't come to IST that often. My main concern is how United Club will handle the sudden influx of members that might change their lounge access policies in the future.

TK Elites' lounge usage is paid by TK, So UA is getting $ from TK for hosting TK elites. Therefore UA will either expand their lounge or TK will find out that it's cheaper to get their own lounges.
