Travelling through GLA today there are signs in the BA lounge that they will soon be moving to the late, lamented BMI lounge. They promise it to be 'brand new, larger and more luxurious'.

Since BA have been kind enough to status match me, I will have the pleasure of using the lounge, but I will also remember the 'good old days'.

Great news - trudging past the spacious abandoned lounge to an overcrowded shoebox is always demoralising. Though will there be boarding direct from the lounge, or will BA continue operating from the end of the pier?

I was thinking about that. BA CityFlyer normally use gates about half way down the pier, but the number of nightstopping aircraft (including the occasional 767) probably precludes all the BA flights being served by the three adjacent gates. Currently FlyBe's Embraers are the most frequent sight at the gate to the right of the lounge and EasyJet have a number of international departures from the gate nearest the terminal, because it (and presumably the old BMI gate) can be served by a sterile corridor from the international departures area.

Similar to the Fares now on the Major UK Domestics.

BA seem to have inflated the prices from BHD to LHR by about 20% for all flights that I have checked so larger is so true!

And from 27th June they are charging £75 taxes/charges from LHR to BHD, making the minimum o/w flight price £81, which is over twice the minimum price in the opposite direction. I know BHD's charge is landing not departure, but even so £75 taxes/charges for a domestic flight is absurd. I emailed BA pointing out that this looks like a fault and that they are likely to have a lot of nearly-empty planes in the LHR-BHD direction but they weren't interested in following it up.
