China - one day only in Bejing - great wall?

Have never been to Bejing (but have been to Shanghai, Hong Kong..)- arriving at 8 am and leaving next morning. Worth a trip to the Great Wall? Seems I'd get there later and would expect lots of driving and lots of tourists - or worth it? If not, and 1 day itins. welcome. Think I'll stay at the Orchid guest house/hotel....

imho, yes, worth a trip to the great wall. we went to mutianyu and were very happy. hire a driver and you can do the whole trip in less then 1/2 a day and then go check out some of the awesome markets in town! (again with all respect for their culture, for us the forbidden city wasn't that exciting...after about 10 minutes we had seen enough) and don't forget to eat some awesome food there -have fun!
