I am only asking this as I am being impatient/hopeful - I applied last week for a Platinum AMEX and am curious if any one recalls how quickly they received their card?

I noticed my (self)referral bonus points posted today, so I know I was approved without delay, but am I likely to receive the card by the end of next week (in time for some impromptu travel)? As I recall my no fee Gold took a call from me to get the ball rolling - got instant approval, but after 2 weeks, no card; called and then within a week the card arrived.

I think they normally Purolator Platinum cards so it shouldn't be too long.

My Wife applied for her Amex Platinum on May 29, 2012. The Refer a Friend posted on May 30. The UPS Waybill was dated June 7 and UPS came to the door on June 11, 2012. We are also in Vancouver.

We missed UPS and the next day I didn't have the pickup card at work. I called UPS and just with my postal code they were able to locate the envelope.

This was the first Amex card that came by UPS. Other Amex cards came via Canada post (Regular mail), Express post (Canada post Express) and Purolator.

You could try to call all the couriers all and see if something is on the way. Amex tends to use "Slow" Service and our Platinum came from:

Amex Canada Inc.
101 McNabb Street
Markham Ontario
L3R 4H8

Also, the welcome package did NOT come with any mention of the new benefits (Cathay Gold was not even mentioned) You may want to call Amex and ask them how to apply for Cathay, Accor, Carleton, SPG, etc.

Good luck!

Thanks IT, doesn't look good, but that's okay. Once I figure out for sure if I'm working Saturday, I will still fly anywhere that will get me some decent sun, bonus lounge access or not!

My first Centurion card took 3 days from the time I applied for it. They rushed it for me so I could use it on a trip. The sent it FedEx. Awesome service.

If you agreed to pay me $5000.00 to join my "club" I too would spring for a FedEx to get you your membership card within 3 days if you asked.

For recent AMEX Platinum, I think it's a week on approval, then I see my referral bonus, and a week later it's in Canada Post XpressPost big envelope delivered to door
