All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - Question re redeeming an intl award incl a domestic flight

I currently have an award booking held with this routing:

LAX-NRT-CCC (Japanese city)/NRT-LAX

I was told I could not do:

LAX-NRT-CCC/DDD-HND/NRT-LAX (open jaw plus layover)

Can I do:

LAX-NRT-CCC/CCC-HND/NRT-LAX


2nd question:
I thought that domestic flights were including free on an international ticket. That appears to not be the case.

Initially I booked (2 people):
180K SAN-LAX-NRT-CCC/NRT-LAX-SAN

170K LAX-NRT-CCC/NRT-LAX

and I saw

160K LAX-NRT/NRT-LAX - outbound is mid season, return is low. Thus, the domestic flight added 5K miles/ticket, or 10K for two tickets.

If I am allowed to fly LAX-NRT-CCC/CCC-HND/NRT-LAX, does it require more miles?

fumitani, thanks for your willingness to help. I now have the official answer from ANA.

I wanted to fly to a domestic destination in Japan and then have a stopover in Tokyo at the end of my visit. I cannot do that. I had to ticket one way to the domestic stop, then one way from Tokyo back to the US. I will have to buy the internal flight from the domestic city to Tokyo separately from the award ticket.

Trying to find a different way to say it, I am allowed an open jaw award but I cannot have a RT award with a stopover at the gateway city.
