I've made a few bookings about 4 days ago, and when I check the status on the website, it still states that "We can confirm your reservation on receipt of payment authorisation from your bank or card issuer." Do I just keep waiting or is there something I need to do?
From my experience, there is nothing more you need to do. If there is any problem with charging your card, the hotel will try to contact you.

Probably that specific hotel does not charge your card prior of your arrival. It happened the same to me and that's what I was told when I called the hotel.
