Searched, no thread found.

Have to use up a $ 400 Volunteer voucher before Aug 13 this year.

Will I get miles on this ?

Can use it to go to Vegas, LA....best routes ?

Thanks

You're in the wrong forum, and the mods will move your thread, but here are a couple answers:

yes, you earn miles on voucher purchases, yes you can use it to get to the west coast, keep an eye on this thread for speicific MR opportunities, otherwise try using something like the Matrix ITA tool to figure out routes and potential MRs

ETA: domestic mileage run opportunities from DC don't seem to be very frequent these days, unless I'm just not paying close attention. Your best bet may just be using your voucher to enjoy a significantly discounted/free trip somewhere, and whatever miles come with that.

ThanksAs to the earning miles and destinations.....

Yes you will earn miles on the trip as using bump vouchers to pay for the ticket is the same as paying cash so as long as it is a paid ticket, you earn miles. As to going to LAS, yes and pretty much anywhere UA flies-there should be a terms & conditions page to your voucher which will spell out any exclusions and the only one that you pretty much have to keep in mind is that it has to be on booked on and thru UA and on UA metal-no codeshares.

Also keep in mind that you don't have to use all $400 at once so if you find say a fare for $200, you'll still have $200 left to play with but (and I'm not sure on this with the new UA vouchers since the conversion to CO's old system) the original expiration date may still hold on the residual amount

I've taken advantage of several good fares between LAS and BWI. G fares run in the low $200's and seem to pop up every few months. You can score some extra EQM/PQM by routing through SFO, LAX or EWR.

MRs from IAD/BWI have been lame, lame, lame for months now.

There are almost always opportunities to MR on Jul 4th ... anyone find anything remotely good yet ?

IAD-MRY is available out/back same day for $320 AI or about 5.4c/EQM which aint great; however, it is pretty convenient out/back in a day trip ... :20 in MRY.

Most of what I've been seeing on UA metal only (some better US stuff that doesn't help you of course), have been pricing out in the 5.5-6.5 cpm range (from BWI no less), so yeah, nothing too great from DC lately.

July 4th fares still seemed to be above our magic MR threshold when I was looking on Tuesday. I booked a trip to Omaha because the price was lower than I've seen lately, and it's a state I haven't been to, but cpm was not good at all. It looked like DEN and SAN were 'good fare' options a few days back, but again, nothing MR worthy. Not sure if they're still on sale.

US also had DCA-SEA yesterday for ~4.8 CPM, which is as good a deal as I've seen in a while for IAD or DCA (same day turns too). I've been watching for a couple months IIRC. (I know you mentioned United but since they're both *A, you could use the miles)

*Edit* Just realized you had a voucher. Scratch that then.

Its a lovely time of year to visit Tucson.

3.2cpm should be doable. Slightly worse if you're less particular on routings.

Love MRY ... spent 4 days there early June. Hiking along the coast was GREAT, though SOOOO much poison oak to avoid.

It can be a pretty good out/back same day MR though if the price is right as the :20 in MRY usually means in/out of MRY on the same aircraft for a quick 1000 EQM.
