I have stayed a many hotels along the "strip"..none that I recall have free internet access (for my computer, not a hotel computer)..has anyone done a "survey" of hotel internet access rates in this area?

I haven't done a survey but the Ibis has a relatively inexpensive package which includes 24-hour unlimited access to high speed Internet, movies, music, jukebox, etc. for £4.99 extra.

No survey (thanks to a UK iPhone), but my sister always just takes a quick walk to McDonald's and uses their wifi. :)

An excellent idea! @:-)

In that case the most convenient hotels might be the Radisson Blu Edwardian or the Sheraton Heathrow as there seem to be at least two McDonalds on Bath Road. ^

Yes, one is pretty much near the Sheraton LHR, while the Park Inn, Rennaissance, HI LHR, HI Heathrow Ariel, Sheraton Skyline, Marriott, and Radisson Blue are near the other McDonalds.

Agreed about Mac's option...I've done it before with these caveats:
* I'm not a wifi poacher...I will always purchase something
* The weather is semi-decent...no fun to get bundled up..walk a few minutes to do a quick send/receive email
* The Mac's is open

But I think I'm going to try the Ibis option..room rate is very reasonable, close to (free) bus stop, and appears that there is free wifi in the lobby according to some TripAdvisor reviews..

At least the Ibis will not cost you an arm and a leg, I've experienced room rates up to £450 in the Sheraton Heathrow before.

Apart from that, in this day & age WiFi access should be complimentary in any hotel, I tend to avoid hotels with rip off internet rates.

If you had selected a Broadband package you should have received 24 hour Internet access for 4.99 GBP extra.
