Is this considered a good offer? Yes. I'd take it. At a minimum it's worth $700 cash. ferrari_fan Jun 14, 12, 9:37 pm That is 30k more points than the public offer. Yummy, I'd hit that ^ flightmedic Jun 14, 12, 9:39 pm I see in the offer that I can transfer the points to BA or UA. It also says this is worth $875 towards travel booked through ultimate rewards. I am not familiar with ultimate rewards. Can you help with this? DavidAL Jun 14, 12, 9:44 pm I see in the offer that I can transfer the points to BA or UA. See here. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credit-card-programs/1238626-chase-sapphire-preferred-benefits-thread.html?highlight=chase+sapphire+benefits Basically you can do lots with 70K UR points. centrifuge41 Jun 14, 12, 10:04 pm Wow, what a beautiful offer! With transfer partners like United, BA, Hyatt, and Southwest, you can: take a trip to Asia on United, or make 15 one-way one leg short haul trips in AA planes on BA Avios, or stay up to 14 nights at certain Hyatt properties, or do $1166 of Wanna Get Away flying on Southwest! civico Jun 14, 12, 10:07 pm I see in the offer that I can transfer the points to BA or UA. It also says this is worth $875 towards travel booked through ultimate rewards. I am not familiar with ultimate rewards. Can you help with this? Yes, it's a really, really good offer. I'd take it in a second. You can use Chase UR points two ways: 1. You can transfer them to an airline or a hotel. 70,000 chase points will transfer to United at a 1:1 ratio, giving you 70,000 United miles. 2. You can use Chase UR points as a currency to buy your ticket from an airline directly. The 70k miles is worth a set amount of $875. You'd need to book your ticket through Chase's site, but basically you have $875 to spend on a ticket. The benefits to transferring them is that if you know what you are doing you can easily use 70,000 to get you a ticket or two that is worth more than $875. The benefit of using them as their own currency is that you will earn miles for the flight that you book. I'd take the transfer almost every time, but it does require a bit more initiative to put together a trip that way. loverofpeace Jun 14, 12, 10:24 pm Amazing offer! Take it! travelpye Jun 15, 12, 6:27 am Wow! I am jealous! I got the 50K bonus in January, and I have been quite happy with the SP. I did add the Freedom in May, and as so many have observed on this forum, it is proving to be a great combo. I can combine my UR points from my Freedom, especially earning via the quarterly category 5% bonus, with my SP UR points and really see the total climb quite rapidly. (And I am not that big a spender.) I would go for it! goAsia Jun 15, 12, 7:18 am I'll just continue to pile on and add another YES! You'd be foolish to pass it up. Ultimate Rewards Points have become some of the most valuable points out there, even at times rivaling SPG points in my opinion. scwam Jun 15, 12, 7:47 am 70k is a roundtrip ticket to Asia valued at $1100 or more. donsug Jun 15, 12, 7:58 am I received my CSP card about 3 weeks ago with a "paltry" 40K mile signup. Carter29072 Jun 15, 12, 8:55 am Would love the bump but it has been over 90 days since I got the sapphire so don't think I need to bother asking for it. Hubby has since got the sapphire as well. Normally, I would ask for anything. LOL! If anyone has a link to pass along, would love to pass it along to a friend. Thanks! Happy Jun 15, 12, 9:12 am I received my CSP card about 3 weeks ago with a "paltry" 40K mile signup. Any suggestions on how to pursue getting an additional 30K for recently signing up? It is targeted. Chase would ask you to forward the invitation code and such when you pursuit the additional. Only when an offer is to the public that you could ask for a match. LOL! If anyone has a link to pass along, would love to pass it along to a friend. Thanks! You would not get a bump even if you are within 90 days. It is a targeted offer. Chase also has become very stingy on any match on this card since last Summer's fiasco. There is no link. Didn't you read the 1st post that it is a targeted offer? The invitation link sent to the recipient would pull up the recipient's own personal data in Chase system and pre-fill the application form, in case you have no prior knowledge how Chase targeted offer works. I realize it was a targeted offer. Don't be so negative. I have had quite good luck getting the bump on mine and my husbands ink. Got a bump on my chase united. All of these for the asking, no link. Have a Happy positive day. flightmedic Jun 15, 12, 1:21 pm This is a targeted offer which my wife and I both received. Why I don't know. I had the Chase Southwest Card which I cancelled about 1 1/2 years ago. I have a number of Citibank Cards and the BA cards. We do bank with Chase. The offer does have a specific code that when I enter pulls up my information. Sorry it can't be shared but I guess you could always call Chase and tell them that a "friend" received this offer and could they match it. travelinfoo Jun 15, 12, 3:50 pm This is a targeted offer which my wife and I both received. Sorry it can't be shared but I guess you could always call Chase and tell them that a "friend" received this offer and could they match it. That doesn't work. I got a targeted 50k offer for first spend then saw some targeted offer for 75k less than a month after applying. They had a code. I sent a secure email. The response was they would be happy to give me the increased offer if I sent in my code # from my invite letter. No code, no bump. Since I did not receive a letter and thus no code, no extra points. civico Jun 15, 12, 6:40 pm A bunch of readers have reported that they have NOT been able to get the bonus bumped. I would still tell anyone to try, since it can't hurt, but also keep your eyes peeled on your mail and email! Let's hope this means the public offer is getting raised! Cross your fingers. Happy Jun 15, 12, 7:36 pm I realize it was a targeted offer. Don't be so negative. I have had quite good luck getting the bump on mine and my husbands ink. Got a bump on my chase united. All of these for the asking, no link. Have a Happy positive day. Just pass along the information on how Chase system work. Certainly you can continue to put in your efforts to search for a link. Or you may be the lucky one who can convince Chase to bump you though posts No.20 and 21 suggest otherwise - that is how Chase works especially with the targeted offers on Sapphire Preferred and Ink Bold - the 2 In-House cards that Chase seems to be very strict on who gets what. United is easy because it is a PUBLIC offer - meaning you can get a landing page by going thru some steps. Not the Sapphire Preferred. There is a difference between a Public offer that is not readily available and a targeted offer that has no public access. United is the former while Sapphire Preferred is the latter. Have a lucky day and come back to tell us your success story. flightmedic Jun 15, 12, 9:04 pm My wife and I each applied via the website with our code and we were both immediately approved. Thanks to all for their suggestions. ferrari_fan Jun 15, 12, 9:06 pm My wife and I each applied via the website with our code and we were both immediately approved. I can then ask to match for the 70k offer Happy Jun 16, 12, 6:50 pm can you now give us the invitation code since you already applied? I can then ask to match for the 70k offer Do you even read OP's post? The offer does have a specific code that when I enter pulls up my information. Sorry it can't be shared but I guess you could always call Chase and tell them that a "friend" received this offer and could they match it. Chase invitation code is INDIVIDUAL, not a generic code. The said code would pull up the invitee's PERSONAL DATA - name, address and such. And you still ask the recipient to share the code with you even the recipient already said it is PERSONAL? The reason why Chase wants to see the code when being asked for a match is: it will then see YOU who asks for the offer is the actual recipient of the code being sent to - by matching the Personal Data attached to the code and Your own personal data... and then verify if you are being targeted! The only time Chase would match an offer is when the offer has a Public Version that is accessible such as the better UA offer or the better Marriott offer or the better PC offer... None of them requires an invitation code. gtu2004 Jun 18, 12, 7:46 am can anyone post the screenshot/scan of the offer? I don't need the individual code so you can delete, cut it out, or paste something over that. emptiness Jun 18, 12, 7:25 pm can anyone post the screenshot/scan of the offer? I don't need the individual code so you can delete, cut it out, or paste something over that. +1^ guflyer Jun 19, 12, 9:58 am Do offers that start out as a "test offer" (according to Chase's polite rejection of the offer) generally become public afterward, or do they remain targeted indefinitely? kgkg Jun 19, 12, 11:26 am I asked Chase to match the offer through message. It was a no go...:( dcpilgrim Jun 19, 12, 10:54 pm For the people who got included in the sample - do you have other chase cards? Are they getting a lot of your spend? I am hoping the cc fairies left me such an envelope when I get home from a family vacation. guflyer Jun 20, 12, 3:48 pm I was also wondering how they target people for the offer. I was curious if a lot of it was people who have had Chase cards in the past but cancelled them who Chase was trying to bring back. r.brown Jun 21, 12, 2:06 pm I was also wondering how they target people for the offer. I was curious if a lot of it was people who have had Chase cards in the past but cancelled them who Chase was trying to bring back. I wonder the same thing. I never receive any decent Chase offers - just the generic ones that are the same online. I have 1 Chase card now (United) that I never use. I can tell on my credit report that Chase keeps doing soft pulls on me - probably for marketing / target offers but I never receive any. Chase should be able to see the volume I put thru on Amex (mainly charge cards, so my monthly spend is shown as my balance each month and it has to be paid in full). Around $25k / month. Apparently they do not want to target me or they think I just won't use the card since I already have one with them and never use it. jatink129 Jun 23, 12, 2:56 pm I wonder the same thing. I've opted in for emails, letters, and also opted in at https://www.optoutprescreen.com/ I now get JUNK:mad: by the cartloads and am yet to receive a single really good offer. heck most of the offers they send me can be beaten by a mile by the stuff I find on FT. :D metoo Jun 23, 12, 3:00 pm I recall awhile back when I talked about targeted offers, CSR said the Market dept usually targets offer based on zip codes. jatink129 Jun 23, 12, 7:43 pm I recall awhile back when I talked about targeted offers, CSR said the Market dept usually targets offer based on zip codes.
